I'm all for seeing a lawnmower motor rebuild, been learning a lot from watching ya. Brought a smile to my face when you were playing with the clutch and making racing noises. I had also managed to get my hands on a small engine as you had recommended, as part of a motorized bike kit. Its a small 2 stroke thing for me to learn from which took me about a week to put together and has been a tone of fun to play with. Thank you for the inspiration and I look forward to your next video!
would love to see the lawnmower rebuild. Your going thru the gears was pretty authentic. Made me laugh out loud. The car is coming along nicely. It's too bad we have to wait a week for each video, but it is what it is. keep it up.
I've waited all week for your new video! I'm always happy with whatever content you have! Thanks for all your hard work!! It is greatly appreciated by me and lots of other folks!! Keep on keeping on!! 👍👍🇺🇲
I love those front mounts, they were sold by Hurst. In 1950, I used the same type of front mount to swap an Olds engine right onto the original Ford mounts on the frame. It sure took a lot of work out of positioning the engine. For money at the time, I didn't have a pot to pee in, so they must have been reasonably priced.
My Uncle Jerry raced a 55 chevy at Riverside Speedway, CA in the late 60's and as a race fan at the early age of five I remember my parents taking me to the Saturday night stock car races in my pajamas with the attached slippers, when I watch you bring your Fathers race car back to life makes me respect you and your hard work and knowledge so I looked up 1940 Chevy Nascar and it showed Bill France racing a 40 chevy on the beach of Daytona, you might enjoy watching Nascar Grand National Series 1949 - 1971 Lee Petty and Fireball Roberts and all the stock car tracks, all the race fans reading the comments can view the rich history of stock cars.
LoL yeah, seeing your drill press turn into a spinning machine of doom always adds excitement to the day. I've had it happen with a standard drill press and one of those magnetic drills. Let me tell you, I'm getting too old for that kind of excitement 😁
Working at night to miss the heat is the perfect way to stay cool . I'm a night hawk from way back , But for different reasons , I do it because everyone is sleeping so there are no distractions . I sure do love the way work around fixing things using the lathe to cut down shafts and the vice as a multi use bender. Till next time , thank you for your more than interesting videos , God Bless you and yours , stay cool , and get some much needed sleep . Stuart in Canada ..
Excellent work, starting to take shape. That's a cool front mount, could use clicky-clacky electric pump, block off plate and keep the front mount. Much easier with steering knuckles and headers... just a thought... great job as always!👀
Sorry to hear about your bad luck on the mower Chad! 😖 Good on you for helping your nephew and letting him use your shop. Enjoyed the video and happy wrenching 🔧🔩
As always, happy Friday y'all! I finally got outta the hospital late Tuesday afternoon from a 4 day stint following what was supposed to be a simple outpatient procedure. Majorly severe infection in my hand that had begun traveling up into my forearm and. Dr told me that it was the worst infection he's ever seen after fileting my hand and wrist like a trout! Anywho, lost my middle finger, which was the plan and I've got the next 6 weeks to get IV antibiotics (Vancomycin) at dialysis. Now to get healed up & see if my hand is gonna operate somewhat normally again. Hope you guys' week has been stellar and that you all have a wonderful weekend! 💙🙏🏼
Great work, Chad, We have been working third shift for years ever since I got the ole tractor charging its cooler, much easier on man and machine and with the dew holding the dust down better for the air. Listen to your body, videos of you getting a full body cast won't fly. Central California watching
I can’t wait to see the first test ride in the ol’ sporty 40! And I would love a shot of Ol’ Dude and her sitting side by side that would be awesome. Enjoying the progress a lot but hey, if you make a video of fixing your mower, I’m in! Thank you so much Chad and God bless!
Hey Mr. Chad, I would most for sure watch you fix your lawnmower. Just like your channel says, is This n That Garage. I enjoy everything you work on. It is very interesting.I am with you what ever you work on, Sir.
I noticed you cutting some metal with a grinder & you didn’t have any ear protection in. I worked in maintenance most of my life and we were always encouraged to wear ear protection. You’ll be thankful one day when you can hear. Nice job on the 1940 Chevy!!!!
I hear you talking about the hot weather down south and it is because of the Heat Dome. I’m so glad my mama and daddy moved out of the south before I was born because I hate that intense heat. I don’t mind the winter weather because you can prepare for it and wait it out here working indoors with a small heater or wood stove but that heat is deadly and it stresses out the heart and causes heat strokes that kill .
Thank you ,always enjoy your vids and as an old hot rodder that can no longer do stuff because of loose ball joints and track rod ends you have my sympathy! Merci from France
Speaking of pain like you had I have A titanium rode in my right leg & A titanium plate in my neck! My shoulders and arms all wise hurt, but if I quit I'll die. You've been an inspiration to get out & do something even if it's hard! O & my son hatted for me to make sound efax like you were doing the other day, tires squealing, engine noises, back up alarms, horns, exe!!!.. O he'd get mad, I'd laugh.
Hi Chad, why don't you counter sink some holes on a length of brass n drill n tap it onto the bed of your lathe, won't make it new but it will get it a bit more accurate, loving the videos, best wishes Darren.
Always good to see you Chad, 40 Chevy Coupe is gaining! Looking good Chad, thanks for sharing my friend! Kirk from Louisiana, sending prayers and good vibes! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻👋🏼👋🏼👋🏼👌🏻👌🏻👍🏼👍🏼🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
AWESOME work. When I was building my 5 window, I striped it down and found all kinds of weird welds and junk. Thanks to HFT for grinders that I cut thru the cords of at least 4 of. Many cut off wheels later I finally got it cleaned up. Also, cut thru a lot of rivets. Takes time but it is looking really good.
For sharp bends cut about half way through where you want to bend then bend it with the cut on the inside. When you get it where you want lay a weld bead along the inside of the bend. She coming along nicely.👍🏻
Love to see a mower video! Sounds like fun. This channel is starting to feel like a less technological version of Watch Wes Work. No oscilloscope but a lot of neat projects. Love every minute!
Lovin' the progress on the ol' Chebby. Can't wait to see her up and runnin'. Had to smile when I seen the WJ. Gonna be workin' on mine here tomorrow. Gotta put the front driveline back in it. Certainly I'd watch you rebuild the Briggs twin. Stay safe in that heat now.
As much as I'm interested in your vehicle builds, I'd honestly watch you tear just about anything apart and rebuild it. If you feel like filming the lawnmower rebuild and posting it, it won't be the only small engine repair that I'll be watching next week.
Love this channel. Been watching it for about 6 months now. One thing I wish you did more often for dummies like me is explain what I'm looking at, ha. You do some really complex work and it's hard to keep up with what you're trying to accomplish. Regardless, great show!
You have did only what life time has done in the past my wife sat through a epi of your show with out asking 100 million questions lol keep up the good work sir.
It's good to see that I'm not the only one who gets completely filthy from head to toe when working on cars. All these youtube mechanics are dressed like they're going to the country club, and never get a spec of dirt on them, never break a sweat. I look like I've been wallowing in a tar pit and am drenched through and through with sweat when I do anything on the car. You are the only person who ever wears ratty old work clothes lol.
Yet another cracking afternoon's entertainment, really enjoying this build series, life is life, you do what you need to do, we'll watch it, keep up the great content my friend. Greetings from the UK 🇬🇧
Yes would love to see a video on the mower, rebuild or new engine. Plus going top to bottom bumper to bumper fixing all the little things. "maintenence" if you will, I know its an alien concept to most of us. Anyways love the videos keep em coming!
That Cub Cadet would be a cool lawn mower with that red go cart motor adapted to it! Just kiddin...maybe. You could mow the grass really fast while power sliding through your turns. I am excited about your Sporty 40 and love that you found that tag on the fire wall. Its a cool thing to look at and show your buddies at least. That clutch pedal demo had me cracking up! I believe you have those famous Chad-man headers on your 40! I used to have a pair of Hedman headers back in the day, sounded similar but different.
We ALL need a mower that works!! Come on Chad, you know that would be a great video working on the Cadet!! You're the best regular guy mechanic on UA-cam.. I sure hope you get that riding mower rebuilt for next week's video. Too bad it was nice last week it's going to be HOT this coming week again.. at least up north east it is :(
3 minutes in and I have the urge to go build a clevest😂. Love the content Chad! I learn a thing or two every video. Just recently came across your channel, but I've binge watched the obs 4x4 hot rod videos (I own a 95 suburban). Now I'm watching the process of the 40 being built.

I like seeing the Chevy but the Jeep content was interesting too and I’m sure a little small engine repair would be educational also…I enjoy watching your problem solving skills in action. 😎 God bless 🙏🏼🇺🇸
Excellent video Chad on 1940 Chevrolet Coupe car also take lots work build up from scratch to and so cool showing in steps plus part series on UA-cam videos very good information! Also yes glad nephew got his Jeep fix on front axle with your help plus shop work on together too! Yes be interesting on Cub Cadet Lawn Mower Tractor on video fix up be so nice see and watch fix up too ! I never work on those types ever !
It takes a true country boy to make them good sound effects, lol. Sounded just like a stick shift Chevy . Great job Chad I'm empresesd with the job you did on the brakes. I had a 39 Chevy four door I wish I had fixed like your doing with your daddy car. Good Content
Hey Chad another awesome instalment buddy I love watching what you are doing with the Chevy and if you want to make a video of the mower repair I would love to watch that as well , totally enjoy watching anything you do it’s really great to follow , take care 👌👌👍
I love watching how you improvise jobs. It's encouraging! Please do a repair video on the mower!

Best part of friday when you work weekends!
Hi Mr. Chad, looks like she's coming around, can't wait until you get it on road. The sound effects were good.
I love those front mounts, they were sold by Hurst. In 1950, I used the same type of front mount to swap an Olds engine right onto the original Ford mounts on the frame. Best part of my week. Get home from 80hrs and just get to chill out and watch for a while. Love it. And yes rebuild the mower.
👍
I hope you do make a video of the mower! I wanna see the teardown and work. Thanks for all your videos Chad!
Looks like the 40 has had 9 lives like an alley cat ! Cool project!

LoL yeah, seeing your drill press turn into a spinning machine of doom always adds excitement to the day. I've had it happen with a standard drill press and one of those magnetic drills. Let me tell you, I'm getting too old for that kind of excitement 😁
I'm glad you're getting stuff done because I haven't accomplished a daggum thing this week.
Love seeing the progress man even thru this ridiculous heat. Piddling ain’t too fun when it’s this hot😂

Of course we'd watch you rebuild your mower; we're here for you as much as what you work on.
Excellent work, starting to take shape. That's a cool front mount, could use clicky-clacky electric pump, block off plate and keep the front mount. Much easier with steering knuckles and headers... just a thought... great job as always!👀
Not a fan of that mount nor an electric pump.

Wow! Glad you're on the mend! Try to have a nice holiday weekend!
I'm Robyn by the way, fellow Chad follower 😁
Don’t rebuild that Intek. Just replace it with a harbor freight engine. Inteks are junk.
Glad you're on the mend!
Good you saved your hand,
@@JohnLineal yeah & thank you! If it'd went just a little further, I'm almost positive that I would have surely lost it. 💙🙏🏼
It would be cool to see you work on the rider great job Chad
