I had a lot of requests for Reverend guitars to be showcased and since there's no lefties, Ben is back! Let me know what you think of Reverend guitars if you own or have played some! Timestamps are in the description and links are below. Cheers 🎸 - Shane

Is that just the availability over there? Reverend makes one of the Double Agent models in lefty.
Last I looked Reverend had 4 models in left including this one. Great demo either way.
Reverend has at least 3 lefty models that I know of.
I have a crosscut hard tail in red burst. Really low action . Set up was good out of the box.
@@jhardindrums There weren't any at the shop but there are some on the way later this year from what I heard. :)
Great video! As you are aware Shane, I have been playing Reverend guitars for several years. I own 4 different models, all play excellent and the quality is superb. Keep up the great work.
They look like great guitars. I wanted a Manta Ray i think it was called at one point but couldn't find a store with any locally in Oz.
Beautiful clean sounds on this guitar - entertaining demo and great guitar playing, as well.
Reverend is really knocking it outa the park w the build quality I've seen online... have yet to get my hands on one though..soon enough
Sounds GREAT! Well done Benno! \m/
A few months to a year ago, Reverend was selling this guitar in lefty in a color called "Mulberry Mist". Think light purple sparkle with a rosewood fretboard. It was 100% glorious and I missed my opportunity to get one. Definitely kicking myself now. Thanks for showcasing these great guitars, Shane and Ben!
Another killer performance from Ben! He’s such a shot in the arm for the channel.
Cheers, Allen, super kind of you to say.
Digging the tones man!
Great playing. Reverend guitars are excellent. Love the 3 p90’s. Might just have to check one out
P90s! The 90 doesn't belong TO the P!
Unfortunately not a guitar I can play being a southpaw, I’m just here to listen to Ben’s playing!😎 Dig those bends man!!!👍🏾👍🏾🎸🎸🎸
Cheers, Jamal!
Great review man.
Great demo Ben! Would love to own a Reverend, working on acquiring one! Shane they do make a few models in south paw 🐾 hope your able to find one.
I have two Reverends, Chicago Music Exchange Double Agent and the Robin Finck signature. The build quality is top notch on both. The dark roast Double Agent is really pretty. I’m not a huge fan of the pickups, but that is a personal preference and playing style kind of thing. For cleaner playing I think the pickups would be great, but I’m so used to DiMarzio Super Distortion and PAF pickups that I usually swap pickups in most of my guitars anyway. Overall, though, beautiful guitars with a lacquer finish.
Nice review!
Great review of one of my favourite "Signature" Guitars. I played a Reverend Club King with Filt style pickups in a local Music Store it was really nice in the hand and sounded as a good guitar should at this price point. It's good to see Guitars that are less well know, at least here in Australia.
For me as an Off set tragic the shape is not weird, that shape is a hybrid like an Off Set Fender but it is not a true Off Set as the cutaways are in line.
In case any one is unfamiliar with Ron Asheton (R.I.P.), as this is a Blues channel, he was the Guitar player in the original Stooges and later the Bass player in Iggy and the Stooges. The story goes (Premier Guitar), it was Ron that asked Joe Naylor at Reverend to fit something to cut bass in his Guitar and they came up with the Bass Contour.
Ron played various Reverends on the Stooges 2003 - 2008 reunion tour. Reverend also did a Ron Asheton Signature Flying V (390s x 3) in 2008 and Fuzz pedal package.
Cheers
Pete
Man I like that color and trim, I got the chronic blue, it's got quality and style. It might be my favorite now. Lot of guitar for the money. IV been playing for over 50 yrs. Do yourself a favor try one out. Great video. Subscribed. Good playing there too. I wish I had ran up on that color before I bought the blue one that Ashton model looks boss.
I like the addition of another player to the channel. And he’s a righty. 🤘
I have a 390 Manta Ray and love it. I put a Vibramate/B5 Bigsby on it and it works well. If you can pick one up s/h, it’s best, as they drop a lot of original value (in the U.K.)
I love reverend! I have two of their guitars. I have Pete Anderson eastsider S and the billy corogan signature. The only complaint I have with them are the frets are a bit sharp on the ends. At least the two I have were.
I have the Reverend Warhack 390 - very similar guitar with 3 p90s but set neck and 24.75 inch scale. Great guitar! My second Reverend, I used to have a Volcano. Great value in my opinion, when I compare them to my more expensive guitars such as Gibson, Fender, ESP and G&L.
Great show as always 👍. As a Dane, I have to ask how that souvenir from Copenhagen, showing Nyhavn, Rundetårn, Vor Frue, Marmor kirken, Københavns domkirke and Christiansborg has traveled, literally, around the globe and ended down under? 🙂🇩🇰
Was in a guitar shop in Melbourne today looking for an Epiphone LP modern, saw one of these and picked it up out of curiosity. Wow! It is beautiful to play. I think I may save a little longer and give the LP a miss 😍
Big fan of Reverend. Please do a comparison with one or two of their Railhammer pickup models vs.a major brand. I believe the Railhammers are outstanding and would like to.know what you think. I have the Airsonic W and the Shade Balderose.
Nice playing and tone !
It really came alive once you got to the 3 position, I wonder if the neck pickup is bad. Very unusual for this model. 🤔
Cool guitar and nice video...
I recently (for the first time) bought a P90 Guitar, (A LP Gold Top Clone) and quite a different sound from the humbuckers.
Question Please: Was your overdriven guitar sound just from the Fender Blues Deluxe Reissue and the Captor X speaker attenuation? Or were you using a pedal also. The tone and overdrive were real nice. Thanks.

What a fantastic sounding guitar!!
Hey Shane, any reccomendations for an od pedal into the artist tweedtone? Looking for low gain blues sound. Or is it just better to just use the drive channel or cranck the clean on it? Playing a gretsch tenesse rose.
Dang.... Those pickups are rich and full!!!! Nice
Cool video 👌looking at the guitar at sky music, seems on the expensive side for little over $2k though, I'm sure it's worth it to many... I think i heard you mention rosewood for the fretboard, but it's Pau Ferro upon checking...cheers!
Reverend was using pau ferro during the CITES period, but are moving back to rosewood since that ended. Not sure how up-to-date the specs on the website are, compared to what’s actually shipping, as they’ve been backlogged for the last couple of years.
Greetings from yellow ocean band your sounding very good 👍🏼 well done
I have a burst Jetstream 390. Awesome guitar. Very versatile. - Strat on steroids or can get close to Gibson tones too.
I like the design a lot 👌
Very interesting guitar. Where are these made? Cheers!
South Korea by Mirr Music Co. They make a lot of good stuff there. I think it's the same factory that PRS ended up using for the original SE line.
Mine are made in Korea.
Made in Korea, and set up in the US
From Leo: I really like the tone control layout. It is like the G&L PTB system. Very versatile. I have converted a couple Stratocasters to the G&L system. It obviously works great on the Reverend P-90 guitar also.
Is there a lefty?
Very cool guitar , but the neck pickup sounded dull and muddy to me. Throughout all the settings I never really heard any spank or twang that I would expect from a 3 p-90 set-up. It just sounded kind of dead to me in all the settings.
NICE
Youre not Shane but great playin man
Love the P90's sound, but hate the 60's cycle hum
Well luckily we don't have 60 'cycle' hum here!
It's a VIBRATO!
That’s the Ron Asheton model.
👍🏻👍🏻
The black midi special
I hate the lightning bolts.
Looks cool but I prefer Epiphone/Gibson P90s tone.
Shane looks different here. Did he get a haircut or something?
Ron Asheton of the Stooges was one of my favourite guitarists. R.I.P Ron. I don't get the connection..they bring out a signature model randomly 12-13 years after his death..might have been nicer while he was alive or had any family left to benefit from the sale of these using his name..maybe he does..a distant cousin??..he did play a reverend on his last tour, so theres that..but he played a strat on those classic early stooges recordings.this is random..pass
One of my favs too mate..great guitarist!
Yeah his Rev was different...we don't get a lot of Reverends in Australia, l remember seeing one shaped a bit like an SG & had a contour control.
We did a Signature for him while he was very much alive -- he was a good pal and admirer of our Founder and Designer, Joe Naylor. The original Ron Asheton Signature was on our Volcano platform (v-shape) that had to be discontinued for reasons beyond our control after he passed. Ronny did play a guitar exactly like this in the early days of the 2000s-era Stooges. We didn't want to lose our connection with him, so we worked with his family to bring this guitar to fruition. Proceeds go to the Ron Asheton Foundation.
Thanks for clearing that up for us all mate. Pity there's not more of ur brand over here...l won't buy online, prefer to play it first.
Edit: did the V you made Ron have 3 p90s? I seem to rmmbr a clip on utube... might be wrong!
@@baabaabaa2293 it did!
@@ReverendguitarsDetroit hahaha! My memory isnt as bad as l think!
Thanks mate.
The Reverend is a tone preacher!
yeah I know...lame.
Instead of saying clean say “less dirty”
