Greg has been running a blistering series of Licks to Annoy Loved Ones on IG. It's pretty great. The last one sounded like someone who passed recently enough, Jim Mesi...good job man, make it weep bro, make it weep.
I've known him since seventh grade, the most down-to-earth.Talented, anindividual Communic.Ever met or encountered in my life?Always says hi to you forty years later he's a great human being 4:21
I think Greg Koch might be the most modest and disarming guitar God of all time. He's sooo much more talented and intelligent than anyone and he refuses to think that about himself. Good goin' Greg. ;)
I had a Reverend Slingshot Custom a long while ago, back when they still made them out of phenolic resin. Three P90's switched Strat style. I regret selling it.
Late to the party, but glad I made it. Fabulous interview with great insight into Reverend guitars and the history behind Greg’s signature model. Always love tuning in to hear Greg talk guitars; and John B., another great interview. Nicely done!
I cannot tell you guys how many times my husband has shouted, "PUT THE DAMN GUITAR DOWN AND LISTEN!!" And I'm like, "I am listening." And he's like "PUT. IT. DOWN."
I'd love to try one of these someday. Haven't had a chance to yet, but I did install this pickup system in a Warmoth Tele build, and i couldn't be happier with it. It sounds fantastic.
There's some great clips of him with his band here on YT. One that stuck with me has Dave Grissom onstage with him. Grissom is great, but Greg burns it down, baby! Awesome!
i LOVE the "noodley" youtube thumbnail for this video !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! John and Greg are a Perfect Pairing !!!!, i couldnt see ANYONE ELSE doing this interview !!!!
WOW....Someone who is actually as tall as Greg.....Now for a tall order / request.....Get Greg and Phil X together ..not just for their playing but to hear to hear what they’re saying ..😎🎸
The Reverend GristleMaster is the best T style guitar ever. I've owned many guitars and played literally thousands. And the fishman gristletone pups are amazing!!!. To the point I'm replacing all my pups in all my others! great product!!!! And Greg is one of the most awesome guitarists of all time.
cool guitar. does the battery drain if you leave it plugged in? also, can you charge the battery while you're playing in case of an emergency? Love your playing. rock on.
Question 1- Yes, it does. Question 2- No. It's in an assembly under the plate. But, as they pointed out in the video, it's a 300 hour battery. and there's a tiny light on the jackplate that flashes if the battery's getting low. It doesn't take long to recharge, either. I put one of these systems in a Warmoth Tele build and I absolutely love it. Highly, highly recommended. The only negative is that it doesn't make you play like Greg.
The fact that the "wood makes no difference" crowd is made up of people who literally can't tell the difference (physically or audibly) really says quite a bit about them, and it's not painting a pretty picture as far as overall-competence goes... Different woods are gonna resonate in different ways. Even if you can't hear the difference outright, it's gonna change how you play, and *that* makes for an obvious difference in tonality.
Hi Bros and sis. Koch is a Deutsch name and means cook. Hi Greg Koch, are you or your anscestors from Deutschland? Coz you have the typical looks of one and the Humor as well. Thanks for your presence and all the best. Wellwishings and goodness. Tom
I have had about 10 different teles. Two rose to the level of "this feels like a whole level of quality above" type instrument: American Deluxe tele and Reverend Pete Anderson Eastsider - mine's the S. If I could get a reverend neck for my baja, I'd do it.
I can't stand G.K.'s talking'roaring, that's just personal, i am not attacking anyone: everyone is different, nobody is perfect and everyone has good qualities (in different quantities, qualities and at different times ;) ), but, i should say,... But his playing is just Great and This guitar is just unbelievable, it sounds so juicy and i think one can get 1000's of sounds from this 3-way switch; it looks friendly, simple and uplifting, too. Yes, treble bleed is a good "fink".
1:25 "They look completely, totally traditional". Said while we're staring at a completely, totally NON-traditional ugly white plate surrounding neck pickup. Just say it like it is, no need for horse shit sales spiel.
Go look up the pickups and you'll see what he is taking about. The neck pickup surround is specific to this guitar, but the pickups themselves look like any other tele pickups once installed
DONT END THE VIDEOS LIKE THAT ANYMORE!!!!!....I HATE THAT!!!!..It feels like Im on the phone with Musicians Friend always trying to hurry you along......I HATE THEM!!!!

A friend of mine is a Reverend dealer, I've played a shit ton of them... they are really good guitars.
I had a Reverend Slingshot Custom a long while ago, back when they still made them out of phenolic resin. Three P90's switched Strat style. I regret selling it.
Err...is a ...shit ton ...more or less ..than a..shit load ? 😎🎸
What is holding them back from being awesome? Why just "really good"?
The world needs more Koch!!! Greg Koch that is ; )
nothin like a faceful of koch

Greg can make any guitar sound good. He makes his sound amazing.
Someone needs to make a t-shirt that says "My wife hates it when I noodle." I'll take 5, please.
I cannot tell you guys how many times my husband has shouted, "PUT THE DAMN GUITAR DOWN AND LISTEN!!" And I'm like, "I am listening." And he's like "PUT. IT. DOWN."
Sounds like the wrong person for ya
Excellent!! These two should write a Dr. Seuss book documenting their encounter. Two great personalities in the guitar world. Both are mansquatches.
the premiere guitar host... reminds me so much of fred willard!
He's very good host and Greg is rally something else.
like the huell howser of guitar reporting.
@@pablochinito - The California Gold guy? Nice. But if that guy was a tri-athlete or something. Bolinger seems fit.
As amazing as Greg is as a musician part of me wants him to be a worldclass comedian
Super chill gentlemen talking about guitars!
I'd love to try one of these someday. Haven't had a chance to yet, but I did install this pickup system in a Warmoth Tele build, and i couldn't be happier with it. It sounds fantastic.
I put mine in a road worn (? something) mexi tele. Really versatile and sound awesome.
Engaging guy. Great player and a brand that makes terrific and affordable instruments for people that don’t have a dentist’s salary.
I don’t like battery guitars but I played a Tele with this system and it sounded very good.
What a legend of a bloke!
There's some great clips of him with his band here on YT. One that stuck with me has Dave Grissom onstage with him. Grissom is great, but Greg burns it down, baby! Awesome!
Check out the "Spank it " the best version on UA-cam

These guitars are finally available in Australia... I'll have to go check one out! They cost about $3K AUD.
WOW....Someone who is actually as tall as Greg.....Now for a tall order / request.....Get Greg and Phil X together ..not just for their playing

Ladies and gentlemen!! The Great!! Greg Koch!!!!!!
Absolute master 🎸
Guitarists: LET GREG PLAY!
Interviewers: LET GREG SPEAK!
Malfeasance. My new favorite word. It has... Gristle.
I’m not nearly as tall as either ot those guys but I’m definitely interested in that guitar.
Love Greg
Absolute monster

@@strummer511 thanks for the info strummer,I had the exact same question.
Korina word is African black Limba wood. Some earlier reverend guitars are made from mahogany, those are supposedly quite good and worth picking up.
Greg Koch, a.k.a. "the Noodlemaster".....
The fact that the "wood makes no difference" crowd is made up of people who literally can't tell the difference (physically or audibly) really says quite a bit about them, and it's not painting a pretty picture as far as overall-competence goes... Dudes t-shirt tellin’ the story.
If Greg is 6'7" how tall is John?
I was just wondering that lol I’d say John is about 6’4 maybe?
And 9v leak for the fun of it. That’s why I bought the cream Greg Koch Reverend.
Wow - peddler meets peddler!! Cool 😎
"are you a jockey?" 😂
You do need to unplug the fishman pickup "amplified" or the battery is being drained on my Fender Acoustasonic . So unplug after play..
Greg Koch is the best Tele player in the game. Fight me.
Johnny Hiland
Greg Koch is Great! But...there’s all this Nashville guys...Matthew Lee for example
Johnny 5 ;)
Josh Smith.
Roy Buchanan was the telecaster master. Albert Collins was also great and named the Iceman ....

Cool guitar!!!
This is a repost from a while ago
can you dig it?
Are Greg's guitars made in USA?

Did dude just come from a construction gig or is he just sweating profusely under the arms because Greg's playing is so intimidating?
cocaine
I don't consume the Peruvian marching powder, my arms sweat similarly.
You can tell that the pickups sound decent, there clear and articulate.....

Does it come in ButterKotch color?
Now that is a signature guitar worth having. Features that actually make a difference.
An orange, oversized T-style guitar. Who's been reading my diary?
I love that guitar but want a smaller body
Try Jenny Craig..

Perhaps start telling people these are old videos. It's the respectful thing to do, especially with social distancing and the Coronavirus.
I hope you're joking
Hey Greg, please never stop noodling.
Buying 9 volt batteries will make you file chapter 13 .
Did he forget to say that it's KOCHWORK ORANGE?
What about Butterkotch?
Kinda weird concept to plug in a guitar to charge
nothing , empty routine , without beauty
what, the hell, do you mean

Somebody introduce John to black t-shirts, willya?

Really Greg, Reverend!
Kind of sucks- the way the video just fades out. I want one of these
I'd rather have a Reverend Unknown Hinson model.
Id rather have a 70' Yacht.
