Thanks for the info. I didn't understand how to attach the strap before this so I appreciate the information.

That was really helpful thanks. Nice penguin portrait also. So what would be your first choice for running?

Thanks Jon. Glad you liked the penguin too!
I think it depends how much weight you need and if you're only using it for running. My comments in the video were definitely aimed at those who would *primarily* use it for running, however if you think you'd want something as an all-rounder, then perhaps the Gravity Fitness vest is the way to go?
If you're only concerned about running and don't plan to add a lot of weight, then I think the style of the XN8 X vest could be better due to how it carries the weight around the shoulders. Unfortunately it is only limited to 8kg.
Looking at something in between, you may find the Adidas style could be better suited? You can see that here:

Thanks for getting back to me.
Both your recommendations seem like really good options, the adidas one in particular.
I've decided to go for one by DKN Sports - solely because it has a max loadout of 20kg, and I like the option to increase the weights (I'm starting with 10kg).
Many thanks for your help 👍

@@calisthenics1017 Hey Rick- just wanted to check back in having bought a vest and used it for a month, and report on results if anyone's interested.
So I did go for the DKN sports one. Not solely as I said before because its adjustable, as I I appreciate the gravity is also. I liked the fact weights came in little bags as opposed to plates, which feel more comfortable on the body during cardio (I use the vest for weighted walking). And also at £60 I found it to be a fair amount cheaper than other similar products in the market.
So after a month of use I've actually managed to lose half a stone using the vest for weighted walking 5 days a week. Full disclosure - I'm quite a lean guy anyway and I also work out 5 days and eat pretty healthy, but I've been amazed at the results.
I've read a ton of studies saying that any sort of cardio with a weighted vest is pointless for the few extra calories it burns wearing it. I totally disagree, and think it's all subjective. It's done wonders for me, and must've just tipped me into a calorie deficit. Just my experience.
So thanks again, I appreciate I didnt actually use the vest in the video but this video really started the ball rolling on my weighted vest journey!
      Cheers
      Jon

The velcro at the back is for the strap to stick to it I think. Certainly that's how I use mine and it works great that way.

Thanks for the review! One question: is it suitable for doing upside down calisthenics? e.g. pike pushups.

I’m not someone who can do advanced callisthenics yet but I’m hoping this will help me get there.

Great review. Is there a way to increase this to maybe 30kg? Maybe some weights from a website that would fit?
Edit: my vest came today, absolutely brilliant and far heavier than I expected. Il be training with just 10kg for the time been. Well recommend

I know there are other vests out there that have a maximum load of 30kg, though if I am increasing weight myself I just use a dipping belt (I've got the RDX one here - geni.us/cQXB).
I find that it's more comfortable to do it this way. The weighted vest is pretty versatile and works well for all kinds of exercises such as push-ups, squats, rows etc, whereas if I'm really wanting to jack the weight up I'm likely doing this for pull-ups or dips. In this case, a dipping belt feels more comfortable for this, simply strapping a kettlebell, plate(s), or whatever else you can find on the end.

@@calisthenics1017 thanks for the reply. I may get a dip belt when needed.
