- This video aims to compare the Electronics and Communication branch with the Computer Science branch. The choice of branch is entirely based on one's interest. However, the goal of this video is to discuss the coursework of both these branches and their impact on the common man.
I have compared them based on four important factors:
Complexity
Future scope
Salary
Growth
Make decisions based on your goals and nature.

Mtech in power eletronics and power system students can seat vlsi placement? (Trichi/calicut/warangal/surutkal/alhabad/rorekella)
It depends on the company as well whether they allow EE background or not.
These rules may vary each year based on college placement committee. Upto my time they allowed EE Guys as well but mostly resumes were not shortlisted by companies for vlsi jobs. As vlsi require major in vlsi or at least something from SP/ Communication
Bhaiya,i want to sit and work on laptop or computer don't want to Roam around.
Which Branch should i choose? 🤔
ECE or CSE both would work.
But You need to choose Coding related sub domains such as VLSI or ML or SPML if going with ECE.
That means I should select CSE?
Edited the reply...check latest one....both have desk jobs possible. I am also from ece and my work is completely on laptop.
I'm doing M.Tech in VLSI &Embedded Systemsat IIITG, currently in 2nd Sem, having a CPI of 9.56 during the 1st sem, I'm following your Roadmap, as IIITGuwahati, is new IIIT, so placement is an issue , so will I have off campus opportunity in Nvidia, as it is my dream company?
How should I proceed? Please reply?
Yes, NVIDIA will allow you as your major is VLSI. But their interview is the toughest to crack now as every new vlsi engineer wants them.
So, Prepare accordingly.
I hope you are following the latest Roadmaps.
I have shared one roadmap two years ago but now situation is changed so few extra things needed to be done.
Make sure to learn System verilog as well (For front end roles) and one / two good projects during M.Tech.
Ok, system verilog, UVM, and scripting languages like TCL /Perl
@@trinankurdebroy3305 Yes,
Also, my institute have access to Cadence, Synopsys, Should I do some projects using those tools, or for digital profile ,should focus doing projects on Vivado, and learning ASIC and FPGA.
Don't you think ECE sucks...as you are neither a full electrical engineer nor a full computer science engineer..
and one advice if you only want to earn CS is best
CS has an edge currently but ECE doesn't suck.
Because the aim of ECE is to make you an "Electronics" engineer, not a "Half CS+Half Electrical" engineer.
And Electronics is NOT half CS+ half Electrical.
I am damn sure you have no idea of Electronics.
Bro what is the CTC of a SOC design engineer(fresher)at Intel and Nvidia?@@Singh-Rajveer
@@prasanjeetnayak8253 Intel 20+
Nvidia 27+ (Not including stocks of all years, it is one year ctc)
@@prasanjeetnayak8253 I would recommend NVIDIA. However both are great companies.
Yes, Intel offers RSUs vested for some years
Mae toh pagal hora hu kal digital communication ka paper 2 baje ece k subjects sabse harami, koi nhi leta open elective bhi😢😢😢
Yes, ECE subjects are quite tough but if you don't like digital communication then atleast do to get the exam cleared.
It's a broader domain and once you find your genuine interest in something:- That subject would seem easier.
Bhaiya 2024 me teir 3 college me ece lena kaisa rahega
Khud se hi krna pdega sb....tbhi tier-3 se engineering kro
Btech chemical
Is M. Tech compulsory for getting job in core ece branch
Yes sir please do a video on that.
Yes, It plays a vital role.
If Your B.Tech college doesn't hold good reputation/ Core ECE companies doesn't visit then M.Tech is best option for core ece jobs but it should be reputed college as well.
You can watch my video "VLSI Job Entry ways".... I have Discussed all those things there.

@@Singh-Rajveer i m from DTU....Btech ece ke baad achhi core job to lag jayegi naa iss college se..mai mtech abhi nhi krna chahta
Electronics companies visit DTU so, If you can clear the test & interview then hopefully....lg jayegi
