How did you get the coil spring up? Switching to either side and upside down I can't get it to fit. Thks!
yea that part takes some time. you gotta have some patients with it, we tried multiple things but what worked best was we dropped the lower control arm all the way down, screwed the spindle onto the lower control arm (snug) , put the coil in, then bolted the upper control arm onto the frame (loosely). then we used the floor jack n jacked up the lower till we were able to connect the spindle up to the upper control arm.
@@devanwxyz Aye, thank you. Did you reuse the top stock rubber cover? (Seems to take up too much room) Also, which side of the spring is up lol?
guitarguy3221 yea we reused them, needed a lil finessing lol you’ll see more spring towards the end, that will be the bottom i believe.
@@devanwxyz Got er done! Thanks for the info. Jacked the spring up a bit & kicked it into the shock hoop. I had to use a bolt washer nut combo to spread open the control arm slots, upper arm was a super tight fit. How has the kit held up for you? U mentioned moog tierod ends & wheel hubs?
guitarguy3221 yea i love it, great travel, turning radius is good. its a nice upgrade. definitely get the tie rods and the hubs but other than that, its dialed 👌🏼 ive beat on it pretty good many times and it holds up. i think i will be getting my lowers some weld washers to strengthen tho
I just got working on my 2001 manual reg cab step side with a factory 4.8
That’s a clean truck where I come from get a nice scotch, bright pad on the end of a drill and go to town
Hey. Great job, thanks for posting a video.
I gotta rib you a little bit about that “rust” ..
Look up rust belt trucks and you’ll rethink your position. 😁🤣
I grew up in Alaska where they heavily salt the roads for snow and ice.
You get 10-15 years out of truck max.
They become an underivable safety hazard. Frames rot in half. Springs break.
You’d be using a torch, not a wrench to remove bolts on anything “old”.
I moved down south to Oregon.
It’s crazy how nice rigs are around here.
It’s just incredible.
Did you have an issue with the coil spring not sitting flush with the lower control arm ? I tried installing mine and doesnt want to sit in, leaves a gap.
Thanks
Looks great. Is the truck with the Camburg lift 4WD?
no it is not 4WD
WHERE U GET THAT CONTROL ARM
what control arm? the upper control arms?
@@devanwxyz yes
@@58thatdude they come as a kit from Camburg racing
If this what you did to the front wyd to the back
Is this a lift kit?
I just stumbled across this video,I think I saw my truck drive by at the end of the video. I live across the street and a few doors down...lol
hahaha no way thats dope bro! what truck you got?
The white 06 silverado crewcab on spindles and 33's
@@andrewespinosa4102 lol
How is the reliability off road? How’s the flex?
i’m honestly very pleased with the kit. handles very well offroad. i have a new video coming soon where i add the dirt king alignment keys. a permanent solution for alignment
Looks great ..I've had this set up for roughly 8years. I load it up on trips. So sqat did not work out. Leveled the rear w. add a leaf &small block. Removed my camper shell recently after about 5years. paint damage from the rubbing. Not too bad for all the things its been thru..
infowarrior1999 thats sick! yea i found that the squat didnt work out recently haha. Imo squat looks good but i think it need the blocks. Especially if/when i go to the desert👍
Is your ride hight level to the rear now?
i would recommend putting a 2inch block in the rear if you want to be level
What shocks are you running? Looking at doing a similar setup
What size tires? Any rubbage?
these r 31s i believe. there is rub only when i back up and go close to full lock.
info about the camper plsss man
What's the difference between the medium and long travel ? how many inches? pros and cons?
well basically, mid travel is for your every truck but can handle well in desert, like fire roads. long travel is for more serious driver. it would handle way better than a mid travel but with long travel other things come into play (shocks, hubs, steering, fenders) are some of the things that would need to also be upgraded. mid travel you dont need new fenders too. it just depends on what direction you wanna go with ur truck
@@devanwxyz is a medum travel basically a lift kit ? or more to it ?
Truther 416 its better than a lift kit. cuz u actually get travel out of it. i get about 10-11 inch of travel
Great job proud of you son!
What lift does that crew cab out by the curb? Looks badass lol
cst lift kit idk what size
Bro your a life saver. Ive been looking for a mid-travel to a long travel kit for my 2002 silverado for months.
Yall don't know what rust is till you have worked on trucks in Michigan
Did you have to get an extended abs wire? If so where did you get it? Also which extended brake lines do you have? Thanks
j b its comes with extended brake lines. steel braided ones. and the abs wire is fine. its the stock one. i just zip tied them together so they dont get pinched or whatever.
j b but i did upgrade my hubs on both sides to moog. much stronger. they hooked up fine
What type of lower control arm are you running
Casey Schwenson i used the stock lower control arm from my old truck that was totaled. i just moved everything over to the other truck bc it was easier
Were you able to insert the cotter pin into the lower ball joint? I just installed the same kit, I torqued down the castle nut pretty tight but the hole to insert the cotter pin is not visible...
i didnt put the cotter pins in my lower ball joints. so ur good 👌🏼
@@devanwxyz so you encountered the same "issue"? Thankx
If I want to also remove my front bumper fog lights and trim do I need to disconnect any fuses or other wires ??
no nothing else needs to be disconnected
great video devan!
Been looking to do this to my 05 Silverado. Truck looks good. You think about a 2” or 3” block in the rear?
Abraham Lopez i made a video on that, i put a 2 inch in the rear, nice and level🤙🏼
Devan Chance I’ll have to check that out. Nice looking truck
@@devanwxyz was thinking about going that route with a spacer . What do you think about a deaver spring (f87), that would lift the rear an additional 4 inches Bring the truck level.
@@devanwxyz also what size tire are you running 34s ? On camburgs website it mentions I need fenders to run 35
@@TheOGMexicanMonkeyz im running 35s now. in the video i had 33s. i did not need to get fenders tho. i cut the body back and the wheel well plastic and bumper. zero rubbing after cuts
What brand of lower control arms are they bud?
The gaming Templar its the stock arms
Sweet rig bud i have a 2005 reg cab shortbox build im doing
KY MARKS did you get rid of it ?
Cat-Master_Pimp didn’t sell it decided to go with a different build making it a street truck now
How much did the camburg set up cost?
Syrupking100 $1700 v worth it too
Devan Chance can you link me to it
Wait so you dont need the sway bar anymore??
not really bro bro. you get more travel with out it. but id suggest leave it on try it if u dont like it. take it out. simple. theres just a lot of body roll
As an Iowan in the heart of the rust belt, I will say that truck is clean. Nice set up though!
I was about to saw in wisconsin that truck would be considered fucking mint
What size wheels and tires?
16 rims and 31s i think
Hey how does this kit compare to stock?
What size tires are u using?
hoku akiona they are 33 inch
Where did u get the wheels?
Did you end up doing anything to the rear ?
How much do you like that kit? And is it long travel?
Nick Geissler i love the kit. absolutely amazing. i would tho upgrade my inner tie rods to moog ones. i took it out to johnson valley and was rippin it. no problems. its mid travel. so about 10-15inch of travel.
My bad I’m sorry I just saw this, but about how much would this one cost new?
Nick Geissler 1700
Would I be able to use the same kit in my 03 sierra 1500 4x4 if not is there a different way to space out my wheels?
so what happened to pull over you for black smoke illegal or almost nothing to avoid cop?
Jessie Munroe-Murer not really sure what youre trying to say there. but im guessing it has something to do with my tail lights? they are legal
I love the squatted look gives it more stance. Where did you get your bed shell and what brand?
Whiskey Biscuit thanks man. I love the stance too! And i bought the truck with the camper shell. But the brand is Leer. Its a great brand and camper👍
Really really nice looking truck lol...what size rims bro?
thanks dude. they are 16” rims. i will be moving up to 17” shortly with 35” tires
@@devanwxyz oh hell yeah brother...i subscribed so im stoked to see it man 👍
What type of wheels are these? Looks super clean bro.
What kind of wheels are those and the size of them please
Shauntae Chee umm i got them on 4wheelparts they are steel wheels, and the size are 16inch with whatever the correct offset that fit my truck. & 33inch tires
Dad and son building memories. Very cool!
I feel like it needs at least a inch and a half block in the rear. Just has too much squat.
High Diamond yeah i was feelin that too. I have 2 inch blocks in the garage so ill have to see what it looks like with them on 🤔
Devan Chance it'll make a good video 👍
Devan Chance real clean truck though.
That rust is almost spotless compared to where I live
Lmao if you're worried about that LITTLE amount of rust you don't want to see what a truck looks like in canada after 5 years of dealing with winter, salt and gravel
“The airs really bad”🤣🤣 it’s cause the salt
Hehe thats not rust. Cool vid
You call that rust?
Good stuff man... that bed cap looks sick, how much was it
thanks bro! I believe that a brand new one would cost around 1K or 900. Somewhere around there. but that depending on the brand, mine is Leer.
Devan Chance ohh dang, yeah that that shit is expensive but it looks pretty lit... I’ve got an 01 1500 4wd and I’m also tryna make a prerunner/desert racer out of it... you plan to compete with yours?
nah not really, more of a daily + i would like it to be capable for the desert if need be.
So jealous... that you get to work on your truck with your dad...
You never seen a michigan truck that not even rusty
What wheels and tires are those!?
Rust?! In Canada your truck would be mint lol. Good job tho
Tim Reimer lmaooo yea everyone says that about where my rust is not even comparable to where they live haha. i agree. im just not used to it here 💀. but thankyou tim!
haha u think thats rust in michigan a 1 year old car has way more rust than that
Subbed for progress
Kyle Swaggard thanks brotha, got some videos cookin up rn 🙏🏼
I'm just going to climb under my car with nothing holding it up, and let my kid do the same!
Wanting to do similar mods to mine and stumbled across this video. Sub'd for more progress
thanks man! means alot!
Do you have spindles with stock struts?
i have upgraded spindle and upgraded struts
What brand spindles you used?
What type of upper control arm is that? I see that it bolts on to spindle
its by the company Camburg Racing
Dude y’all do some awesome work
Have you done the rear suspension too? It looks very good. Wish my 2000 Silverado had paint that clean too lol.
no in the near future i think im going to do kings in the rear. nothing too crazy lol
Devan Chance A pair of Kings probably cost more than my entire truck. lol
If he thinks that's rusty, my jeep would really really blow his fucking mind.😂
