Literally! I just had parent/teacher conferences for my son (born 2007), and his English teacher told me that my son falls asleep in his class often, but when the teacher talks to my son in regards to the subject they are covering, my son is able to give a complete rundown. I’ve known lots of teacher who have said most of the time, as long as kids aren’t disruptive and are able to answer questions, they just let the kids sleep. You never know what the kids have going on outside of the classroom. Anything from having to work late at a part time job to family issues that have the kid mentally/emotionally worn out to teens just sometimes need extra sleep. And if that kid feels safe enough to fall asleep, then that may be one of the biggest compliments you can get. But at the same time, the kid needs to be held accountable (kind of like in this cute/funny skit) and be able to demonstrate knowledge. If a person is hungry, exhausted, or feels unsafe, they are not going to learn anything anyway.
@@mistiwilliams2247 Feel safe enough to sleep? Are students supposed to be preys? Going to school is not ONLY about learning knowledge but how to be a decent human. I think the lack of this awareness explains how a lot of parents raise self-centered kids and cause societal issues today. As much as the reason of sleeping can be understood, it doesn’t mean this behavior should be encouraged.

Yeah life for me rn is kinda hard (saying as after one out of three kids, saw that I *the oldest* could "parent" well enough to BE the parent, all they do is provide enough food for us three kids, and disappear into Nothing so I can do ALL *including clean the entire inside of the house, and basically every other chore* and if I ask said other kids *7 and 9* to help in any way I get screamed at, if I could *legally* get more than one job my parents would force me to get at the very least three jobs *already have one* and with the hours I work I'm forced to only go to school two days a week. *it's a family business, so they pulled the "it's family problems and they HAVE to be out of school"*) but yeah I have to be just fine all the time, right?

I am probably the smartest in my grade and a have what’s called photographic memory so all I need t9 do I look at one equation that explains how to do it or read one text book and I’m done. I love reading and the teacher always try’s to catch me off Guard or try t9 see if 8 listened and I always got it 10/10. Se gets so annoyed.
