It was noon, but the woods are far from any nearby help, first responders are likely going to take some time to reach there. 2. The hole is concealed until somebody fall into it. Light penetration ain't gonna reach the bottom considering the hole's depth of 22 metres in height. 3. Since they were on daytrip - school excursion, doubtful they are well prepared for what's coming. They might pack lunches, hiking boots, and worn warm clothes, but since camping wasn't in their agenda, unlikely they will bring flashlight, rope, etc that might be useful. 4. It is a race against time, the toddler has been in the water longer than you were, pneumonia risk, drown risk, no equipments, no immediate help until hours later. Of course you hadn't planned, anticipate and calculate for this incident to happened, you are just out for casual walk in the woods with your pupils. But if you were in her position, what would you do?

I bet 99% of people would not jump into a blind hole to save a strangers kid. People think they are brave and heroic but when the time comes they freeze up or are to scared to act. She is a superhero.
