I think there are two things that have drastically improved my striking in my quest to get better. The first was shifting more weight to my front foot. It took getting used to cause I was thinning a lot but once you get it into your muscle memory it makes a huge differences. The second, oddly enough, was adjusting my take away. I did the “roll the ball straight back” drill for a solid month or two. People must’ve though I was looney but it made a huge difference in getting into the “slot” while adjusting my natural shot shape. Also helped with my club face through impact. Golf, man. Gnarly freaking sport we play.
Thanks, Andy. I struggled all year after a swing change. All of a sudden I was thinning and fatting irons. After watching some of your posts, I incorporated three of your tips into my iron play. I have weakened my right hand grip, I have moved my hips a little forward, and the thins and fats are gone. My index going into this year was 6.5. It ballooned to 15.3 while I went through the swing change. My last two rounds have been back in the mid 70’s. My irons are longer, straighter, and more accurate now. Thanks for these videos.
Hi Andy, Love your tips which are so helpful. This one has the 'hip bump' which is taught by Porzak golf. Much of their information is also very related to yours. Keep up the great content.
Absolutely agree.. I started stacking by accident about a year ago. Totally minimised my fat shots. As an average player, I have been complemented on my ball striking. This is a great tip, use it if you are struggling 100% 👍👍
Fantastic tips Andy. I've just come off the range after trying out your advice. Swaying instantly stopped, ball striking hugely better. Although hitting off mats you still know when you chunk one. No chunks and consistency in ball flight/dispersion. Great start to my return to golf after 8 years away.
Great instructions as always Andy, I've tried all the ball movement and messed it up, the best strikes are from middle of my stance and driver off the lead heel, you have just given me the best advice ever, thanks 🎉❤
Great video again Andy. I’ve always thought that the ball position is important but is overly complicated and this video confirmed a far simpler approach. The weight distribution advice is great, tried it this morning at the range and made a great difference.
Thanks so much for the simple and clear instruction on ball position. This is golden for me and I get it. No more tripe in my golf instruction diet! Great stuff Andy, u da man!
Excellent job Andy on explaining and demonstrating how to stop "fatting" the irons! As you recommend, I try to stay centered over the ball with your suggested ball positions. In moving through the ball, I try not let my upper body overtake my lower body. And one thing that is very important, doing a "basics check" prior to starting the takeaway! Well Done Andy! Always look forward to your input for education and/or validation!
@@andycartergolf your other video on driver, specifically the take away, got me down to one swing thought. Just a small tweak but I hit my best drives the very next round. So I have high hopes for this tweak as well. If not, expect a dm on skillest lol. Great content.
Great video! Would love a video of wrist movement post impact.. I see people trying to teach to hold the wrists lock, while others teach to roll the trail wrist over the lead post impact.. Would love to know your thoughts, and would that help with stopping the lead top shoulder from popping up vertical post impact?
Great vlog Andy - Ive had issues understanding the weight on the front foot aspect; pretty sure you just demonstrated really well. Time to go practice... Cheers
We share a pet hate.. I got into all kinds of grief moving the ball around. Just stick it in the middle now for all my irons and all is well.. Great lesson. keep 'em coming..

You make it look so easy, but good simple advice all the same; tomorrow I plan to put these tips to the test. Watch this space!,

I don’t know why I watch these at work when I know I have no ability to swing a club. Look forward to applying this tip soon though 🤘🤘

Yes i do personally because if helps strike
Another outstanding video. And you look just like Clive Owen. Do you have any flaws?
