- Using the original David Bowie 7" vinyl single 'Rebel Rebel' as a backdrop, here's a dedication to all those who shared my love of Manchester clubs The Ranch Bar and Pips Roxy Room and the venues, The Electric Circus and Rafters during the late 70's. Thank you to all who took these photos and shot the films - without whom.....
A note about this Rebel Rebel track, The original master for this song where lost and all subsequent releases, be it Diamond Dogs and all the 'Greatest Hits' albums have used the LP version,
The forthcoming 40th anniversary picture disc release (March 10th, 2014 DBREBEL40) was actually lifted from the best 7" copy available.

I was a regular too…Colin, most thurs/fri/sat/sun…always got in free with tickets from Alf on door…my mate Terry used to work the bar…Just met up with long time friend Gail Egan after forty odd years she was close friend of Pete Shelly Buzzcocks…best years 60-70s never to be repeated it was full on energy. Vaguely remember a guy with green hair😂🤣❤️✌️👴🏻🏴🇮🇪.
i used to go to the ranch bar 76 77,was on dale st nextto foo foos,basement club dark dingy and the best.
I became a member at Pips at the age of 15 in 1977 clinging on to the one drink I could afford and trying to look cool! Night bus back to Oldham and my mum's wrath!
thanks very much good memories,and your right a good time had by all,and after the clubs all sitting around piccadilly gardens until the early morning,i had green hair,and wore a girls school jacket,drainpipe jeans and scruffy converse,think rick mayall,must have seen me lol.
