Im thankful. Im just starting to use it. New Video will be up in a few hours with lots more footage. So far I like it and seeing its limitations. Glad I have it. Aloha.
Gill, does engine RPM make a difference in the performance of the shear? It looked like you were pushing the limits when cutting the tree trunk. Looking forward to future videos from the channel.
Engine RPM only increases speed not power. That truck was at the max capacity and just trying to see how it cut. It did it but not effectively. Im still learning on this attachment and seeing what works.
@@gillpecceuservices Thanks, I am looking to put it on my KX-057-4. Who was your dealer? I was looking at an M&M for a skid steer but the TMK looks interesting.
@@scottseaner8937 I got it form mccarthyfarmsct.com/ Matt Mccarthy is an awesome gentleman to deal with. This TMK seems to be built better than the competition while also keeping the weight down at the end of the stick. The TMK 300 is at the high end for weight for my 6 ton CAT 305. Give those guys a call and they will answer all your questions. Tell them Gill sent ya.😉
The tree shear isn't difficult to setup. TMK provides the coupler for your machine. They also provide the proper hydraulic hose ends. If you opt for the electric collector like I have you need to run a cable to your machine for a 12 volt switch. Other than that its straight forward. Hope this helps.
Great to see the shear in use! Looks very good pair with the Cat! How are you liking the shear so far? Warm (or rather cold this time of year) regards from Finland! -Jesse
I think it has more to do with the fact that the fingers were trying to pull the tree into the scheer rather than the sheer into the tree. I honestly just think it was not a well thought out design.
This design works well. I do know other shears have the blade slice into the tree and cut but this design allows the same finger that cuts will also hold the tree. The other design you need fingers to hold the tree after the cut. I was just trying it out on a larger area on the tree to see what it can do.
@@gillpecceuservices The other thing that kind of made me wonder was maintenance or replacement of the cutting edge of that piece of equipment. It did not appear to be replaceable.🤷♂️ am I missing something?
@@lifeonmttammanyridge2565 It may look that its not replaceable but TMK Machinery does offer a weld in replacement. They have it on their website and UA-cam videos. The blade and structure are made with Hardox 400 steel so its tough and wont wear easily.
Wow! That thing worked pretty good…

What was the price on the shear?
For me the price was a little north of $12k. Worth every penny.

Did you go with the Turbo cylinders?
I went with the HD cylinder. Less complicated and I dont mind the slower operation.

loving the shear. Works great for what we need. A little heavy on this size machine but once you get used to it it works well.
@@gillpecceuservices That's very nice to hear! Would love to come film you work at some point! I wish you great cuts in the future. :D

it looks like they took great care in manufacturing that piece of equipment it does not look like junk at all.

Yeah I think I’m gonna take a little bit of a closer look. it is that the only equipment that they make?
