The WTF fun mode of this McLaren is incredible, the engine is so eager for a racetrack that will get anybody a lot of speed tickets. Thanks for keeping the driving license, will be useful for future reviews...

Isn't it strange that a car that costs €200,000 doesn't have a good graphics processor to handle the nav screen? Electronics are cheap compared to carbon fiber, leather, etc.! Upgrading the processor might add $100 to the cost.
I've been wondering the same thing.. A good GPU/CPU chip may cost just $30 more than they are already paying for these low-clocked chips. We're in 2018 wtf. This isn't just in regards to the mclaren but any other brand out there. Really really strange.
It’s because only apple and microsoft, samaung etc know that departement. Car manufacturers don’t know

The rear view camera really should just be in the instrument binnacle, temporarily replacing the tach.

Come on McLaren, there should be a dedicated button to raise the front end of the car, like Huracan and 488! When we drive on the road and need to enter a parking lot or garage, we don't have time to go into a menu and/or press multiple buttons. This is a design flaw.
That one black speaker in the middle of the dash looks out of place too!

That was an excellent review as always Thomas! Such good detail - and so much more of the lowdown and the whole picture of the car - than if we'd gone in to the showroom, or even got a brief test drive. (They wouldn't let me into the showroom, let alone drive a car!) Where we are, you can't go faster than 112 km/h... I would lose my licence. Glad you still have your licence, Thomas, so we can get more of your reviews in the future!

As always a super impressive review Thomas. The line-up of car reviews just gets better and better. Car looks really good and "at least" McLaren made an effort to differentiate some design aspects of the 500 series from the P1 unlike the 600 series which is like a poor man's copy. You're certainly enjoying hammering the car at 200kph there in full comfort.

i love these cars! but......they could use some camaro assistance.. the hvac controles/vents and the heads up display(its got a place for it already). this lil car would be almost perfect

Great review and very informative, you must have different standard specs in Germany. U.K. GTs have soft closing doors as standard, Carbon front skirt extra and it’s 10k more expensive than the S. But love the detail good German and U.K. car vloggers are the very best, you can keep those shouty over enthusiastic yanks

Oh, to hear Thomas say 'WTF', that's a first. I guess it was really fast! :-) That first acceleration from 100-200 was insane, so quick and without any drama. I was really surprised when you said you were already going 200.
I like the look of the McLaren, it's a functional, high tech and racy look. The colour combination of this car totally ruins that, but it would look excellent with alcantara and in 'Gerard blue'! :-)

A velcro secure access panel at the rear of the gt is unexceptable in my opinion. It should be secured properly.

haha! No I wish :-) Maybe some day. It would be a hard decision. My heart -and the 9 year old boy in me- would want the McLaren, but I know my head tells me the Porsche is more logical and livable. Can you imagine a check engine light on the McLaren? yikes! Plus 911s have been around forever, and there's a Porsche dealer and service center in every big city here in the US.

Yeah, I know. But Turbo S has a totally different character as Chris Harris told us in his latest video for TG. Carrera 4S isn't comparable car to 570s or 570GT.

the turbo s might be a little quicker on the strip and I love the thing, but you Porsche fanboys have to admit that the design is boring as hell, there are very few distinguishing factors from a normal 911. The 570 looks like a mofo batmobile or something
