I use terracotta pots for my outdoor garden and plastic pots for shade loving plants. Simply because I think plastic would break easily when exposed to direct sunlight.
The recycled plastic boxes looked very cool. You have explained in detail all the different options available in the market. Loved all the fine details. 😍
I have observed that plants in clay pots need more water than those in plastic pots. Because the clay too absorbs the moisture from the soil, unlike the plastic pots.
U r the sensible human....soil is main ingredient of all life like trees human and other all life of planet.. People first talk about eco friendliness but can't understand any kind of plastic ruin quality of soil and trees ....
Nice informative sharing.l think ceramic pots also non biodegradable (though they made up of kind of soil )so they causes pollution after we throw them and remains longer time as it is in the soil .Expecting some focus on this topic . Thank you.
Good Evening My Dear Garden Up Host, I am avid Gardener myself and enjoy watching your videos. Your excitement and love for plants always inspire me. Have you heard about the Conscious Planet Movement and SaveSoil… could you please explain and talk about it🙏🏽🙏🏽
Hi Ekta mam, your videos are really amazing. They are very interesting and informative . Please do a video on water plants it is a interesting topic. 🙏🙏♥️♥️😍😍
Hey Ekta! I have been waiting since the evening for today's video. I think I'm a little bit obsessed with garden up. Anyways thank you so much for this content. Please do a video on how to care for calatheas. Please please 🙏🙏 I have requested you so many times. Loads of love ❣️
Hi Ekta. Just for reference…. Plastic pots are very much recyclable and even if you do entire life cycle analysis they may turn out to be at par or better than clay pots. It’s just the awareness which is not present among us and also the infrastructure. Otherwise these plastics can easily be recycled
It depends on the owner too. How long he/she is planning to use it. Like, if you are constantly changing pots and throwing off the old ones or even providing them to recycle then it will have a huge impact on the environment for sure. But if one is planning to use it for years to come as plastic is not easily damaged then it's good.
the recycle of plastic pots basically depends on the user like how long he is willing to use it, or after finishing it is he willing to give it away to someone else or just throw it away. Apart from that recycling plastic is easier said than done. While teracotta pots are 100% environmental friendly.
Terracotta is somewhat similar to the price of plastic pots, better to for for terracotta if your plants are kept permanently in one place like i do on the outside of my windeow, and for smaller plants as u mentioned in the vid
You are very soft spoken, I love your english & all videos.
I think you conveyed a great message to all those plant lovers who grow plants in trying to make the environment good often forget about this things They look small but actually a big issue I will make sure that my next purchase to buy pots will be wise enough Thank you for such a great video God bless
Hi Ekta obsessed wirh your videos and love your explanation, you told abt the jute grow bags , when u water , it will become wet and messy , So how do you dispose it, u dint tell abt ceramic pots , thts also good fr growing plants, yes plastic pots are hood but disposing them is a challenge and causes environmental pollution. Pls do more videos on jute grow bags and geo fabric bags and its effects on the environment.loved the vlog.
There is one more option we can use is glass fiber planters they comes little costly but they are not going to break , they comes in every size & designs they are super lightweight & they are not plastic to they are eco-friendly too. I switch to fiberglass planters costly but very much cheaper too effect our invironment. Offcourse not once but slowly I am switching to it.
Terracotta is not very eco-friendly, but they have a very long life if you take care of them. i have a terracotta tulsi pot that is over 20 years old. Plastic is more versatile, but has a life of about 2-3 years. And require a lot of care while reporting. They tend to crack when the heat becomes too much, while terracotta keeps plants cool. I guess it comes down to what plants you are using the pots for. I use terracotta for evergreen outdoor plants and plastic for seasonals and annuals.
Hey di! I have been following garden up from so long now and I'm so happy for it growing this big! These days my money plant is not doing well it's becoming weak and also the leaves started turning yellow. Can you please help me
Ma'am your videos always motivate me more to expand my terrace garden. Ma'am can you tell what to do with my dying areca😞. Its stem and leaves are yellowing. I have kept it in the balcony and it doesn't recieve direct sunlight. I don't know what to do now with my areca.
It is definitely overwater or Underwatering if the tips are brown or blackish and crisp. But if it is yellow and not crisp it is overwatering. You should use epsom salt 1 tbsp in 1 liter water and seaweed winters can also be the reason. But try epsom salt every 15 days
You're right, i bought terracotta for my succulents but i recently bought a small ceramic pot for hwarthia limifolia pups of the mother succulent, will it be fine, it got a drainage hole too
Hlo ekta di another awesome video with lots of knowledge Ek question tha Kya north India ye time areca palm laane ke liye shi h or areca palm ko dkitni der ki sunlight ki jarurat h
You're just awesome 💚 The way you explain is just amazing... Well, Happy Birthday In Advance.. Actually I know it's in February but not the date. Can you please tell me the date. Just the wish you Everything on your birthday 💚
Can I share something? As a kid I saw my grandfather going to the Potter and asking him to make pots for plants ..we had roof filled with those big pots with plants, now he has shifted his base...but I do visit places to bring matir container..not online ..just like the clay diyas during Diwali ❤️
Hi, the feedback i heard about terracotaa or clay pits is that they break easily and we have to keep buying new pots. Is that so or if the pots are maintained properly , can it last linger?
I have almost 50 terracotta pots which are almost 20yr old but they aren't chipped off bcz they are handmade only machine made one are chipped off after 1-2 Yr of uses
I using 15 l bucket for plants......but even after 6-8 holes at base and 4-6 holes at round bottom....water remains at the top..... Completely undrained. .....why ????
my money plants are not bushy . what should I do i have already watched your videos and tried things that you suggested. but nothing is working. reply pls
To reduce the impact of plastic pots on environment we can repurpose the already available plastic containers by making holes in them.
I use terracotta pots for my outdoor garden and plastic pots for shade loving plants. Simply because I think plastic would break easily when exposed to direct sunlight.
Completely addicted to your videos . You are the reason i got inspired to start gardening!😊
I just started getting into home gardening two weeks ago and they're already taking over my house thank you for all the great informative
The way..u r explaining.....is just to another level no one can beat you.... Keep growing..diamond play button is waiting for u ...
👍☺️
The recycled plastic boxes looked very cool. You have explained in detail all the different options available in the market. Loved all the fine details. 😍
This whole video is aesthetic, especially the area where you were sitting it looks so simple yet so aesthetic at the same time I love your setup :)
Nice information...I hoard terracotta pots simply because it's eco friendly 🥰
Really you are angel for gardening lovers 🙂
Very useful information. I love to grow plants in terracotta pots 💚💚💚
I have observed that plants in clay pots need more water than those in plastic pots. Because the clay too absorbs the moisture from the soil, unlike the plastic pots.
Thanks Ekta.. We do need to think basics and decide when the environment is at risk..
One thing is for sure my English knowledge much more improved comparatively my gardening😁😁 thank you 😊
In gardening the main concern should be the plant health and environment, terracotta pots are best for both these concerns!
U r the sensible human....soil is main ingredient of all life like trees human and other all life of planet..
People first talk about eco friendliness but can't understand any kind of plastic ruin quality of soil and trees ....

It’s just the awareness which is not present among us and also the infrastructure. Otherwise these plastics can easily be recycled
but the amount of time and effort plastic takes to recycle is a lot comparatively with teracotta
Not all cities in in India do recycling.
It depends on the owner too. How long he/she is planning to use it. Like, if you are constantly changing pots and throwing off the old ones or even providing them to recycle then it will have a huge impact on the environment for sure. But if one is planning to use it for years to come as plastic is not easily damaged then it's good.
Terracotta pots also come in 18 inch or more.

What about cement planters or ceramic planters?
Akka I am your fan from Tamilnadu. Loads of love to u
I watch your video from Bangladesh 🇧🇩
Hlo ekta di another awesome video with lots of knowledge
Ek question tha
Kya north India ye time areca palm laane ke liye shi h or areca palm ko dkitni der ki sunlight ki jarurat h
Terracotta is burnt clay, killing top soil. The video doesn't talk about the effect of the potting material on roots of the plant either.
Hi, can u give more details on this?
Omg ! Im so happy we have a new vid!! Thanks Ekta Di~
You're just awesome 💚
