    Amazing that Tim the cinema photography is stunning & the timelapse inversions rolling over the great ridge is great to see.always thought about camping on back tor but just never got round to it.such a stunning place the peak especially round there in those conditions,experienced it many times.that MLD looks the business,I like the look of em but I'm not too sure on how the doors don't go to the floor,other than that they look great.tfs mate.Andy.

      Thanks Andrew we camp in our camper at the bottom of Mam Tor and Ive often looked at Back Tor and thought about doing a wild camp, but I didn't expect such a glorious display with the cloud inversion etc, I know exactly what you mean about the DuoMid, that front beak is a few inches off the ground, you have to have a winterised inner in to help, the oook works is perfect, I will try it out at some point in bad conditions just to see what its like. Btw if you ever do get in contact with Chris, please remember me to him, he's a real interesting bloke :) Tim/Mandy

    Hi Tim, Mandy, we spoke on ebay as you was looking into buying my tent recognised the name and watched your vid, Amazing photography, footage as most of the time you end up getting cloud and dank in the Peaks.
    Why 18 months of no wild camping god I couldn't go more than a month without it calling me to get out there.
    Just subbed ya as I want more lol
    All the best

      Hi Colin thanks for watching mate, btw which tent was it I was looking at? My situation regarding wild camping has to do with a couple of very painful sciatic attacks that lasted months, the last was this last Christmas and believe it or not it takes that long to get back the confidence to carry a weight on my back, also Mandy now prefers the campervan lol, but your right there is absolutely nothing to replace the buzz and peace of pitching up on top of a fell, and boy do I miss it, thanks the sub buddy, will sub you too :) Tim/Mandy

    Great to see you both out once again, I love the colour of the tent for all the same reasons but I feel like I should blend in so I tend to pick green. My wife Kir likes the odd wild camp but I think she loves the double bed and heating of the caravan more!
    All the best.

    • @savedpurplecat
      @savedpurplecat  5 років тому +1

      lol that sounds very much like Mandy, ours has been off the road for three weeks, hence the wild camp lol, we tried to go out again last Friday but gave up, (weather not good) I must say it sounds a bit soft but I do love the comfort of a camper these days, colour wise I like a contrast between foreground and back ground for photographic reasons only, your right makes much more sense to not be seen, thanks for watching :) Tim/Mandy

    A very surprising Broken Spectre Tim. The full light spectrum and the clouds did a fine job as did you in filming it. I have a Lunar Solo, which is similar design and have used it many times over the years. I agree it is a wonderful design. Any how, good going. Mark

      Hi Mark it really was a surprise we've had a few engine probs with the transit so I convinced Mandy to come on a wild camp and wow what a treat we had, I hope your doing well my friend, Lunar solo I think I've seen you out in that Mark, is it a little teepee style? They a such a simple/strong design. I bought this with the view of doing some lightweight camps and then had another sciatic attack, horrible mate, but thank God its getting better now :) Tim/Mandy

Well, good you got out but sorry to hear about your back. I wish you future health. As for me I just had my 3rd birthday without Paul and felt sick all day. It's still been hard going but there is good.

    Lovely footage there. The drone footage especially really captured the beauty of the place. Over 40 years spent in the mountains and I've yet to see a Brocken Spectre! It looked very quiet for the peak district which I'm only now just getting to know as my eldest now lives in Mobberley about half an hour from the White Peak. A lot different to here in north Wales but lovely all the same.
    BTW...what was the tent again? Didn't quite get the different outer and inner set up?

    • @savedpurplecat
      @savedpurplecat  5 років тому +1

      Thanks yes we pitched the tent at about 9pm and were gone for about 7am so not too many people, the guy from the local farm came up and had a chat with us, he's a keen photographer so no problems. We've been coming up to this area in the van almost every Friday night for over a year now, its only 45 mins from where we live and very very pleasant. The tent is a Mountain Laurel designs Duo mid, very strong tent, ive yet to test that out myself though, the inner is an oookworks inner made by a guy called shaun who makes custom inners, he's very good. North Wales is Awesome wish I was closer, you live in a great area :) Tim/Mandy
