In about 1979 🤦♂️ me and my dear departed brother used to be mad into film cameras. I had a zenith and he had a cosina. Then a canon. He thought he was royal with the canon 😂 we started developing our photos too. Only black & white but we got some lovely pictures. And I still have some of them. I have a look though them occasionally and get a bit teary remembering the fun we had going out to loads of places. Mucking about with f stops and iso not really knowing what we were doing. We used star filters on the lights etc. And then we would spend hours developing them. Some worked some didn’t. You’re spot on when you say it makes you think and appreciate more what you’re actually photographing. We kept it up for years. I ended up with a Nikon slr Then the digital age came, and when you’ve used film you realise digital, for all its plus points has kind of ripped the heart out of photography. You scored for all those cameras 📷 and Olympus truly did make utterly beautiful ones. Total quality feel to them. I wish I could go back to those days for 1 day a year. That’s all. Just 1 day. Such happy carefree times. Don’t stress too much about the world Tim. We’ll be out of it soon enough. Just keep on keeping on Atb to you both. Andy.

I can just imagine you two with your cameras. Talking about the good old days ive never been one to constantly look back either, but in terms of freedom of speech and freedom of choice I would trade those days for these brother...but here we are this is our time! much respect :) Tim/Mandy
Great video I never owned a good film camera I was young and it was always a crappy one but it took memories even my Polaroid one but at school we did film development I was too young to appreciate it but think I may just buy a film camera again. I bought my daughter and partner a photo album. I heard it on the radio in these times we snap on phones and digital cameras and yes we can show each other them pics but nothing beats a photo album to show off you memories. Thanks for sharing

When my Father in Law dies about 6 years ago we struggled to get rid of his "proper" cameras and I think some went to the skip! I hate waste!! Good to see another vid from you, stay safe.
You got some stunning footage and still shots there and I have to see putting film in a camera takes me back mind lol. Cannot remember the last time I used it but a good hobby, something we all need in these times, cheers Alan
I love this :) I started watching your videos on your ball green channel a year or so ago and they've been really great and encouraging - especially your 'campercasts' and videos up the Cloud :) I work at the big Tesco in Congleton, and they helped me get through the first lockdown, and inspired me to get out there doing some filming and start my own YT channel during the second lockdown. :) I think it's a fab idea to get out there when we can and try capturing the beautiful moments around us :)
Love it. I also picked one of those fantastic olympus plastic pocket jobbies for a few quid from a jumble sale. Takes a great picture. I agree on the wait for the images to come back point - I do however edit some of those digitally once I've got the negatives - goes against much of the organic feel of it I know but it's an extra element of the process that I enjoy.
Thanks Stew yes I try with the more expensive film just to leave the colour alone, but the cheaper stuff I must admit to sticking them through light room if they need a helping hand. Hope you get plenty of opportunities this year in this present madness to get out a bit :) Tim/Mandy

Wow Tim that worked! That's just as I thought how you would use this track. Humbled and impressed my friend. Yes you are right. Film! I used to use digital video tape on HD. 24fps. Superior! Memory cards etc..?? We've been sold a lie with cards and 4k. It's not lifelike, false! Seriously thinking going back to tape.. Informative video Brother.. Valuable!

Funnily enough I got hold of Kenwood tape deck a couple of years ago and was blown away by the warmth of the recordings, it really did sound better, apparently its having something of a revival. Things are really ramping up this year brother, very worrying signs over the Trump issue, love him or hate him are they going to use him as an excuse to slowly shut down freedom of speech?

Thats I think what we need to do a bit at the moment, get some of this chaos out of our minds. The world is changing...cheers buddy
