Ok I'm barely even a club level player but I can 110% understand completely what Wesley talks about when he's saying eating healthy isn't an issue when he's training and at his house but has problems eating well when he's at tournaments because you're giving it everything you have (again I'm barely even a club level player) it's tough AF to travel and eat healthy. Nobody is playing classical games during the day and then going home and spending an hour cooking it's just not happening.
You should have a stream where you play against Eric Rosen's Stafford gambit (the opening in game 1)
If Eric was playing in that game, I would believe it. I can't say the 1700 was using an engine for sure, but I would rate it at extremely likely. If by chance it was legit, massive props to the opponent.
EDIT: After reviewing the game with an engine, I'm pretty sure Alex played legit. Stockfish finds the Bxf2+ win in no time and Alex also made some thematic moves that were decent but not best. Very impressive.

Wow, great brain hand games. Great interview. Meditation should be added to Wesley' s training routines. Nutritional schemes didn't come up. Maybe there are certain herbs out there that could boost the brain strength and physical stamina. They could also stabilize the mood swings. I suggest Wesley consult a naturopathic physician or sports nutritionist for training and during tournament time.

Interesting to note that Wesley has not tried meditation. He should. It will definitely improve his mental strength and fortitude and lessen his "depressed" moments. I've been meditating for some years now, and it has improved my mental clarity & lessened stress. I'm already an optimistic and cheery person, but it has boosted my happiness levels to another degree. More power to you, Wesley! And kudos to you, Maurice for drawing forth from Wesley revealing and insightful answers! From the Philippines, Mabuhay! :)
