I like this video, Maurice. You’ve got a knack for drawing people in with your jive and sass! As an 1800-rated player, though, I have to wonder how I can learn from these mistakes. I learned more, I think, from the higher-level question you had me consider: “What’s the DRAWBACK of my opponent’s move,” rather than “What was the reason behind it?” I believe your concept of Gangsta chess - with its combination of self-respect, confidence, and the will to keep looking until I find what’s wrong with my opponent’s moves - is what I’ll take with me; not the unusual mating patterns you revealed. I love the fact that you dig into these positions and uncover idea after idea... all the while laying down the trash talk. I hope your subscriber base grows fast. You give a lot of value and food for thought... and you sure know your chess!
I love Maurice too but you just wrote a whole essay 😂
@@harclay7288 Sorry! I do a lot of email rather than brief comments. Suffice it to say that I’m glad I found GM Ashley!

Hey Maurice, new viewer here like your energy. Just want to ask, from that last position (45:13) what is wrong with playing knight e5, it would move him to safety while attacking f2 square and you can still play be4
Why do you speak French?! Did you learn it or do you have some roots in a French speaking country? Love your coaching - wish I could afford you 😊
Amazing content or should I say GANGSTA content, xd. In my opinion, you are the best content creator of chess that I have ever watched... GJ (:
I would watch more of your videos but they are just too long.
