  • Marathon Of TRAGIC Accidents On Nanga Parbat
In the heart of the Himalayas lies a towering giant, the mighty Nanga Parbat. Resting in the remote Gilgit region, the mountain proudly claims to be the ninth-highest globally, a breathtaking challenge at 8,126 meters above sea level. However, beneath its grandeur lies a history of terrible mountaineering disasters that have left their mark on its formidable slopes. You might be familiar with the fact that the climbing community has named Nanga Parbat "the killer mountain" because it is just so dangerous. This name comes from many mountaineers who have died trying to climb this huge mountain. So, without further ado, let's dive into some of the most jaw-dropping incidents on this mountain and what happened during these incidents. Let's get started.

Good idea to do a video of several events on the same mountain. That puts the focus on the mountain, which is where the (obsessed) climbers put their focus. So you get different routes and conditions in a side-by-side comparison.

And as an armchair mountaineer, it's easy for me to get caught up in the mindset that Everest and K2 are the only mountains in the world. It's nice to take a break and go somewhere else instead if climbing Everest or K2 for the thousandth time 🙄

Nanga Parbat is "in the heart of the Himalayas"!? Look at a map, man. It's quite literally on its western most fringes.

Why do you start off pronouncing it Muh- marry spur and towards the middle you pronounce it correctly?

Awful commentary and narration. Like a copy paste job of information. I’m not watching this channel any further.

Gunther Messner died in an avalanche. He did not get sick and make it back close to base. I don’t understand how this could’ve been missed.

It's pretty outrageous to make the claim that the "blood of Mackiewicz was on everyone's hands" (meaning the rescuers) as Ms O'Brien did. To be clear: he decided to climb in the winter without supplemental oxygen so the fault is entirely his. It's a fool's errand to try this climb in those conditions and unfair in the extreme to then expect others to risk their lives to save you when things inevitably go pear-shaped as they did on this occasion.

FYI: The term for height (in the air) above sea level is altitude. The term when someone is standing on a mountain - or anywhere on the Earth - is elevation.

There are not many recreational activities where accolades are given when death is the outcome of the accomplishment.

It’s 2024. When will these lazy “content creators” realize that we can make the same crap on our own?
Those of us that want expert insight and factual details will never support these channels.

Wondering why the narrator on this (and many other UA-cam mountaineering videos) don't look up the proper pronunciation of many of the words they use,. t would seem that this is a simple way to improve the quality of the product that provides their income..

Because it's read by AI. There are a ton of identical looking disaster story channels on UA-cam written and voiced by AI.

I don't get it. The family stated, "to celebrate the these individuals who died on the mountain, they're setting up a memorial fund" ???!? Let's all come together and celebrate these people dying by giving us money in a fund of their names?

After trying seven times to summit a mountain and failing, that SHOULD make you aware that maybe this is just "NOT for me!" There is a fine line often, between attempting something dangerous and the obsession to do it, which can kill you! If you don't mind dying, fine, but if you wish to continue enjoying all life has to offer, then maybe you need to choose to "let this one go!" Nanga-P is not called "killer mountain" for no reason! Just like K-2 in Pakistan is called "Savage Mountain" for a reason!

if society just would have left him alone, give him clean and affordable morphium to feel fine, he would still be alive. but no, drugs are bad and you have to quit, even if you die by searching for the natural high. so brainwashed how seciety is

Well in Canada 🇨🇦, the government hands out taxpayer funded drugs to addicts, due to our Socialist government.
The druggies get all kinds of goodies from hardworking Canadians: fentanyl; cocaine; heroin; crack; morphine, et al.
They sell their government drugs so they can buy their drug of choice.
This floods the market so we have a whole new generation of young addicts!!
Druggies are dying by the thousands-🤔 hmm 🤔, isn’t that odd?
Crime is at an all-time high...🤔
Oh yes , handing out hard drugs is definitely a great idea!

God? Why do you mentally ill folk always talk about your delusions?
God made the mountains, god made the air cold and thin. Using your logic, thank god for all the suffering!!
