God I miss this time in music. I don't know that any of us at the time fully appreciated the true diversity of sound we had. My kids are in their late 20's. They grew up with this decade in our house. The 80's were my middle & high school years wrapped into one. We had NO idea how amazing life was back then. How could we? We were in the midst of the Cold War which didn't end till '91. So many leaders with a simple red button threatening each other with who was going to end the world. There were a lot of great songs in the 80s that didn't make it to #1, in addition to the 200+ on this list. I was a teenager back then (I just turned 54), and it was a totally awesome decade for music. Over the past few years, I've been listening mostly to music from the 50s through the 80s, some 90s, and not a whole lot from the past 20 years. My taste gradually moved more left-of-center, outside of the mainstream, in the mid-80s, and that hasn't changed, but I know very little music of the last 20 years even outside of the mainstream, and virtually nothing that's considered mainstream these days. I've become a middle-aged fuddy-duddy lol. Live and let live, I say.

The 80s were the peak of All-types of great music! HOWEVER- Those of us born in the 50s & 60s heard great music from the end of our parents 1940s Big Band, to the evolution of rock & roll, soul and it’s great artists in the 50s & 60s into the easy listening of the early - mid 70s to the funk & disco & dance of the 70s into the 80s as music peaked with sound & videos with all genre’s in the 80s & 90s! 1950s-2000!!!! The Baby-Boomers had the best of all decades!

Born in 1970 so did I ever hit the time warp lottery for this as my teenage decade. Unbelievable that the longest #1 held off the longest #2 for 9 straight weeks. Waiting for a girl like you totally deserves to be here at #2 if not for poor timing. The 80’s #2 list is shockingly good and to think so many classics only had 1 or 2 weeks at the top tells you how competitive the decade was. Long live 80s music!!

THE GREATEST MUSIC OF ALL TIMES AT THE GREATEST DECADE FOR LIVING OF ALL TIMES,1980'S.
Amen
Kudos to the organizer and editor of this amazing video compilation. You successfully made me teary eyed because I grew up to all of these songs. Classic and memorable songs that can still elicit joy to my ears today in November 2020. I can sing along too unlike today's music which are noisy, forgettable and cannot sing along to. I really miss and appreciate the joys and irreplaceable entertainment contributions most of the 80s superstars who already passed away. I think it will take several generations for a new breed of top caliber entertainers to enter the limelight. Ten thumbs up and subscribed. More more.
They don't make great music like this anymore

Madonna rocks! 🎶
How to be right back in the 80s listening to these without having to grow up through it 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Geez...sooooo many memories in this video. Sometimes I wish I could go back to my teen years and hear all these again, blasting from my boom box in my room lol
This music brings back good memories I wish music was still like this not that garbage today
The 60,70 and 80s was the last of the greatest music we ever had
This music brings back such great nostalgia. Honestly, all I really listen to. I try listening today’s music and I find myself saying, “Alexa, play 80’s on 8” every time...
Great music then. Today we have disgusting prostitutes "singing" about their WAP.
Music is pure garbage today.
@@gabriel3464 I totally agree with you!!!!!!
Makes me feel like a teenager again watching these
Very well put together compilation. Thanks for stirring up in me such wonderful memories.
I got tears running on My cheek.
ABBA STILL RULES FOR ME. A 1000 CONGRATULATIONS TO ABBA, FOR A 1000 WEEKS IN UK CHART WITH ABBA GOLD. GO BUY ALL 8 ABBA STUDIO ALBUMS, YOU WON'T REGRET IT 😘
"How can you hold what could've been on a cold and lonely night?"
Damn, just by listening to what was number 1 at any given time, I can remember who I was (or wasn't😥 ) dating during the 80s... I love music. I really, really do.
It's like every song had a real life meaning. I raised my kids on these hits. The 80's were my middle & high school yrs. wrapped into one. We had NO idea how amazing life was back then. How could we? We were in the midst of the Cold War which didn't end till '91. So many leaders with a simple red button threatening each other with who was going to end the world. These hits & videos portray a lot of what was going on back then. Its NOT just great music, its a history lesson as well.
Such an awesome decade of music. I wish there was a single link to download each of these songs. Would download it in a heartbeat!

Those were the years that the world was kind and compassionate unlike now
Haven't they created a time machine yet? It would be só nice to revisit my younger years, 80's, 90's and so forth..
