kylefer the way it slowly decrescendos for 40 seconds until the track ends is like a representation that the fun times, when my biggest worry was being able to afford a rune chainbody, have now ended. I say that because during the actual song I feel like im being taken back to said times.
Yeah it saddens me now that I know noone from those crazy times really. Most of my friends from those days just don't play anymore or are just gone without reasons given. I do also miss the intrigue, the mystery, etc that you felt while playing, the sense of adventure definitely fades with age. :[ I can remember being so captivated in the game, all the music is memorized though I rarely listen to it anymore.
kylefer I'm in the same boat, had no friends who played the game, and my old ingame friends are long gone. Also miss the intrigue and mystery. But, it's great to know that a lot of people feel the same, that you along with hundreds of thousands of others all share this great thing that was a part of all our childhoods.
Yes! you can still play the 2007 version, but the mystery that the game had in our childhoods is gone. But im so happy that pratically an entire generation will never forget how beautiful that experience was. Dont cry because its over, smile because it happened!
This is one of those RS3 themes that I like as much if not more than the original, cause it's STILL down to Earth, not as 'airy' as the other RS3 themes. It's got some depth to it like the original.
@@hankukakohanminaolen7182 It's mostly digital instruments for this song. The section at 0:35 to 0:48 (and a couple other small parts) has a real flute playing over the track, but everything else is digital instruments.
Agreed, for me 2008-2012 runescape is the best too. I dunno why, i think EoC and world wake just kill the sense of calmness and unique of runescape. Be its lore, quest, Rpg. I mean at that time runescape is probably the only mmo that its quest are not just doing x stuff and repeat.
I'd actually disagree personally. It feels less immersive, because a lot of the music becomes a sort of atmospheric background rather than an integral part of the world, and an immersive piece of music. A lot of the new music is just WAY too 'airy' for me, not empty per-say, but lacking in that down-to-earth feeling.
+chuckchuk Some of us like atmospheric music. I like music that sounds like it could fit in an actual fantasy movie, not music that screams "video game music." Not that video game-y music is bad, but it's not what I personally want for my fantasy playlists (that I use for D&D). It doesn't spark the imagination in the same way as, say, the Conan or Lord of the Rings soundtracks. You hear it, you think video-game, not magical fantasy land. I liked the older music just fine, but it was too jarring compared to my other tracks, and sounded dated even compared to game soundtracks from 1992 (compare the older Runescape tracks with Myst, for example).
Oh right right, I see it being far more useful for a D&D playlist of course. But, as music, I also find the new compositions quite dainty and tacky, a good few at least. There are some that greatly improved on old ones though of course. I also usually really like a lot of re-orchestrations of many game such as amazing zelda melodies re-orchestrated. But this just feels, as well as I can describe it, dainty.
This being my favorite track in OSRS, its pretty sad to see how badly they butchered it. Completely misses the feeling of the original. Which I guess is honestly whatever, as I don't play RS3 anyway, so not like I have to listen to it
ive grown up in 2006 scape, it would be the best if it had a solid ecomy but ecomy is doomed to inflate monsterusly with no solid items (rares) to put wealth into. i cannot afford a sanda ot a phat on rs1 or rs3 but know the importance of "rare items" to the ecomy of forever spawning GP.
@@cool06alt I'd agree with the exception of dialing it back to 2007. That's what's considered the RS2 era, yeah? I think I have the most good memories from that, especially after hearing the fantastic revamp of Baroque which was 100% better than the original, and ones like Shine from the old Duel Arena lobby which was somewhat better than the original with the additions made, but felt a bit overwhelming having lost the simplicity that gave the original track so much appeal. Just overall so much good stuff, and I can't really say I hated any of the revamps of the older tracks back then, and in fact liked quite a few of them at least a bit better. Can't say I even hated any of the new tracks either. Back then they weren't so flashy compared to the originals, unlike today in RS3 where I haven't found myself caring about really any of the new tracks they've added which I've heard, or the revamps like this one. There's a select few that shine through and make them a great track still or add a new spin or instrument to them that adds some more depth, like Background, and even some that are straight up better like Tree Spirits, but they're only a select few.
the way it fades out at the end is like a realization that those times are over.
what?

I think cause this track was played by a live orchaestra

No matter what I love RuneScape 3 But miss my time near 2009 10.

@@cool06alt To the both of you I say:
Play oldschool runescape!!!!
RS3 is pretty lacking in comparison
You missed the golden years before that. Im glad I started in 2005 and was able to experience that era
RS3 is pretty good but 2010 had such an active community which made a simple game so special.

I don't play anymore, but one improvement was definitely getting a real orchestra to compose all the music. Adds a feeling of realism to it.

Thank you for uploading this
Love this song very much
I especially enjoy the 30 seconds starting from 1:41
I can sing every note in this song
"Space Force" S2E6 at 5:04, music plays that sounds like this.
this would fit perfectly in a game like Discworld lol
Hermosa mi favorita
Some parts of this version are good.
this melody would sound great in a touhou theme
