    Just wanted to thank you guys for the clear and informative demos. Quite a few programs assume you have a strong foundation already, and I certainly don't. I suffered a crippling injury as a teenager and haven't played in almost 10 years. Now I'm learning to skate again at 25.
    Hockey is really easy to get started, and incredibly hard to master, but anyone can do it. I know guys twice my age getting into the game, so you're definitely never too old.

    Thanks for doing this Jeremy! I'm 30 and have been playing hockey consistently for 7 years. I never learned this simple stuff. The simple things make a difference!

    These videos of skating foundation help a lot I'm teaching my two year old to skate so he likes to watch your videos and practice on ice 3 to 4 times a week with the bar to get his footing correct and we go to the dance studio a few times a week so he can watch himself in the mirror I would love to see more like this!!'

    Until Jeremy answers I can lend my opinion, I usually tape my stick whenever it gets torn in a vital area. Usually I can last 2 games or 2 weeks for that matter with one tape job. This way I can save tape. Some will go as far as doing it before, in the middle and after a game. It's really where you bring your style to the table.

    Thanks Jeremy! I just have one question, how often should I retape my stick, like every time I use it, every week, twice a season? My first season is about to start in a little more than a week and I would just like to know. Keep up the great work!

    I re-tape my stick once a few pieces start hanging off, or if the bottom of the tape wears away and the blade is exposed. Some guys re-tape before each game but I'm not that picky.

    Yeah check out my Deke of the Week videos, I have about 9 of them so far. The Fakes video is a good intro to simple and effective moves.

    I think it's just all personal preference honestly. Like obviously if the tape rips to shit you're going to want to retape but I like to retape my stick before each time I hit the ice. It's just something that I got into. Others barely go through 2 rolls of tape a season. :D

    Oh deer, this guy is nuts! let me know how how it feels when your feet are "together" and your getting put through the boards. Bad coaching. Don't finish with the toe kids, the power comes from the glut and the quads and hamstring, not the ankle or the calves.

    in a stride you're not supposed to go directly to the side...

    • @larrylamontagne3225
      @larrylamontagne3225 7 років тому +2

      Um... yes you are. Once you are in full stride the push is out to the side. With your forward momentum the skate automatically travels behind and the recovery is from behind your body.
