How Do You Prune An Overgrown Yew Shrub?

Yes, they really do grow back. If your yews are overgrown like this, go for it! Spring is the perfect time.

I wouldn't treat them the same way. You could try cutting back on each branch farther than you want them to be and it will fill in. I advise using hand pruners for this.
