We did some planting today. Put some very interesting varieties close together. We've got some temperate Tulsi mixed in with some New Guinea, some Malawi camphor, Some Persian, some Amythyst, and a few other interesting varieties. We'll see what happens. We're having fun planting. While I'm planting, I'm also collecting random unusual volunteers that are popping up around the beds.

Very nice. I'm jealous of such an early planting. I am just holding my breath for the first week of May. Gradually getting different ones starting. Mostly will be focusing on hybrids this year for tea and seed production as we are not going to be trying to supply any fresh basil this year. I will select the best hybrids for to clone and plant for tea harvesting and then at the end of the season will harvest seeds for sale on our website. I also will be doing a collection of different ones I have never grown yet like Zambian Lemon, Malawi Camphor, a new variety of Ethiopian I found online, and New Guinea. I would really like to get my hand on some native basilicum basil seeds from India or Pakistan. I know they grow it there but because there is so much focus on the Tenuiflorum type of basil in India its hard to find much about there basilicums. I did end up getting maybe 40 seeds or so from the plant pictured here. It ended up growing incredibly busy with a ridiculous amount of flowers. I didn't end up getting any clones of it to make it through the winter. The seeds are sprouting with a good germination rate though. Can't wait for an awesome 2024 grow season! I will be making lots more videos this year.

@@BasicallyaboutBasil You will have to keep me posted. I think a lot of our plants will be big enough to take cuttings from soon. I'll be able to send some your way when things get a little warmer on your end.
