Fun fact: The Sludge menace was added overnight because the devs thought that only the mechanism would be anti climatic

Well i guess it have sense couse its just a big puzzle dungeon which is ok it contains amor and mini boss and it have background like u need to stop the pit of decay the meanece was like a chery on top

Couple of notes from a dev though, if you don't mind :P
Not all of the mobs here were intended as (mini) bosses. The Chiromaw Matriarch and the Barrishee were just meant to be 'beefy' mobs. But of course we're not stopping you from experiencing them as mini bosses ;)
The Spirit tree actually doesn't have any music. The track you used is an upcoming track for a music addon to the mod (so technically not 'official'). In it's original design we liked the effect of the silence.
Also, the difficulty of the Spirit Tree depends on the amount of wisps you remove from/place on the stone pillars surrounding it. The difficulty will also affect loot drops.
As for the Pit of Decay mechanism, there is an arrow stuck in one of the targets, as a visual clue. Eventually you got it, haha. Usually the mechanism can be doen pretty quickly. The easiest way is to make use of the moving circles to get a better angle. It's more about precision than speed, as hitting the moving shields will make the platform raise again.
Lastly, it looks like you got some visual bugs going on (most likely due to Optifine). I noticed the Spirit Tree health indicator didn't go down, you had rendering issues with spawn pits, and the door codes in the Sludgeon didn't glow as they should. Perhaps this also caused the shields of the Primordial Malevolence to stay down, but to be honest I don't quite remember whether we made it that way or not :P

Yeah, the Spirit Tree fight was silent for me, and I actually liked it, but I thought it would be super boring to watch. That's why there's "official" music in the video :p
Damn, I knew something wasn't right with those spawn pits at the Sludgeon. Next time I'll try to get rid of visual bugs (somehow).
As for the mechanism fight - I panicked a lot, because "final boss vibes" and all of that, so I wasn't even paying attention to visual stuff and what's going on around me. But yeah, in the end it was a good puzzle.
I hope you'll finish this beautiful mod someday!

I'm really amazed by the gameplay, looks something like out Dark Souls or BloodBorne.
Also did you use a Modpack? Was wondering if I were able to use the same mods you were using on the video
The only mods I used were QoL mods, and The Betweenlands itself.
QoL mods are: Ironchest, Damage Indicators, JEI, Journeymap, KeepingInventory, Optifine (not recommended, see dev comment below).

Good boss fights is the only thing I truly love in videogames, and sadly, there's no more of it in The Betweenlands.
There is, however, one upcoming boss fight (which is the final one iirc), and I will do a video about it when it appears in the game.
But yeah, I really don't wanna make videos about anything else (but still, this mod is probably the best one I've ever played).
Maybe I'll make videos about other content mods with bosses in Minecraft.

@@qwerwrethsw5fssss The Erebus, Lycanites Mobs, Twilight Forest, Aether, and Mowzies Mobs are all mods that I would love to see you do boss fight videos on, I would also find it interesting to see you review the fights and the design of the bosses. I love terraria as well and it's mods so whatever content you put out I'm probably gonna watch it!

It's a real shame, that this mod will forever stay at Minectaft 1.12.2... this way it will eventually be forgottan, as newer versions of the game release over time.
with versions like 1.17 vanilla minecraft will be forgotten
Not really, the devs stated that there is no need to update to future versions of the game because barely anything new there won’t be used in BL. Betweenlands is like its own separate game.
axes actually deal more damage to the spirit tree than swords

No the hardest boss (or at least for me) was either the sludge menace or the dreadful peat mummy. Actually they're all hard.
