- Today, as part of Modernism Week, I took a tour of the historic and iconic Albert Frey House II, located on the hillside behind the Palm Springs Art Museum. It's now my favorite Palm Springs home.

Great video Steve! Nice tour of Frey II. When we went, the room on the end with the 2 sofas wasn't open to the public, nice to see what was in there! 😍
It’s my understanding that the 300 square foot guest room was added by Frey in 1967. That’s the first time seeing it myself.
I wonder what was in there at the time? That reminds me of touring Graceland, where the second floor is closed to the public. 🙁 i’m so glad I finally got to visit this house in person! 😎👍

@@theretiredlifewithsteve the original 800 square foot house conceived and built as a bachelor pad. Looks like he decided he needed more space. I believe that he expanded Frey I several times before moving to the mountainside.

Have a nice evening and week ahead !I have a Cousin by the name of Marsha and have not seen her in 10 years but seeing Uncle Ed April 13th through the 15th and he lives in Barryton Ilinois and is going on 97 years old August 26th ! He is still driving a bit has a computer golfs tennis and lives in a condo pretty much by his own self !

My goodness you’re up early today! By the way, I would feel that if I was coming up those stairs in the dark, I might wind up right in that pool by mistake! And that boulder in the middle of that living room was unbelievable!🏊🏻♀️🪨
That was an interesting house. I tried to imaging the view back in the early 60's. There was probably noting much there then.
I’m sure the view is pretty back then, but I think it must be so much nicer now with all the lights all over town at night. Reminds me of the grandparents home overlooking the city and all the lights at night! 😎👍

OK, so no one is really going to believe that this happened twice! Palm Springs is a big small town. Just opened the door to the Hyatt to walk through CAMP to my next event. Nice to see you both. ❤️ Paul

I have an idea for a video. I think you should do a video of the McCollum Adobe building, the oldest building in palm springs and give some history on the building. I think your viewers would really enjoy it. I enjoy seeing more of palm springs in your videos. I have only been there once but love the area.
Hi Jose, thanks for the suggestion. I did film in a few months ago when my brothers were here. I just haven’t shared it yet. They don’t allow filming inside though, so it’s just the exterior. 🙁

Hi Maria, the mountains around Palm Springs to get snow but it rarely ever snow is that low on the hillside. The snow is usually much higher up.

Hi Karen gosh I can’t believe I forgot to mention what he did. He was a famous architect. He built that home and 50 of the most famous and iconic homes and buildings in Palm Springs. That’s why his home was on the modernism tour. 😊👍

I'm with Marcia, I love to read, and not just books, but BOOKS!! Not on my iPhone, not on a kindle or nook (I've been gifted both), but an actual BOOK. I love the feel of a book in my hands, and the smell of books. WOW!! That was so cool seeing other subscribers! I enjoy touring all the different places in and around Palm Springs, LOVE THE HOUSES, and I will always be a big fan of the grave tours. I enjoy your stories to tell of the lives and times of the people who have passed, and whose graves you're paying respect. Yeah, it's probably the stories I appreciate most. Even of not so famous people who have unusual graves. I hope you don't stop doing that.
