Take a shot every time I tell you to take a picture 😂. I also want to say thank you to my Patron DavidPrideaux for helping me keep this channel going and for motivating me to keep improving.
I subscribed to Imperium Magazine and soon found myself buried in sprues. That's on top of all of the other boxes. Many of them came while I was busy with work. It's overwhelming, but I just want to get working and plow through it. I never thought of it, but I want to start documenting my progress; at least photos and a notebook, maybe even video. The thought of recording my progress is making me want to get started now. I guess there's no better time. (super helpful and kind advice.. I truly appreciate it. very nice paint job as well)
Hey Kevin, it's dead easy to get overwhelmed by the amount of models to paint, just remember to take your time with them there's no deadline! Thanks for the kind words.
@@morriganscreations Cheers Morrigan! Unpacking to assess, inventorying, and setting goals currently. The idea of reasonable timeframe parameters is comforting. I'm aware that *too many models* is hardly a problem. Still, daunting if you readily fathom what's required. Invariably collecting while not completing anything for over a year has led to complete creative stagnation. Apologies: lengthy comment, it helps me process. Maybe it'll help someone who happens upon it. Bought tons of new Contrast and Speed Paints, tools, accessories. Incredible hobby office space. Numerous & varied models from multiple games. All the elements are there. No excuse to not start, right? Well, I just reflected on why my production went cold. So, I won't pretend to understand the psychology behind my behaviors. But I've observed an ever-present hyperfocus on perfection that's been preventing me from just doing good and improving. Or doing anything at all. I say to myself "well, If I just get that airbrush first, then I can..." or "I should be painting 3D prints first to not mess up my models..." or "Nope, the humidity index is far too high to basecoat today..." etc. etc.
I know exactly what you mean. I always sit down with an expectation in my head and when I start to fear not meeting those expectations I lose motivation. For example on the model in the video I had to paint the nmm on the shield 3 times. I realised part way through the second time I'd used the wrong colours but I still finished it like that and took a picture before repainting it the right colour. Don't worry bout the long comment. It's exactly what I was hoping to see in the comments. Discussion :)
