Here in 2022. This has to be one of the finest bass music theory exercises I have ever seen in the ocean of UA-cam lessons. I’ll be doing this great exercise daily. Now I’m considering switching lesson platforms from SBL to TB.
Thanks man. I love breaking music theory down into 'easy' chunks for people to understand. It's all pretty simple if you do stuff in the right order. Loads of people run into problems when they jump into music theory at higher levels, missing out the fundamental blocks that make the later stuff seem easy.
Mark you’re awesome! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and love for playing bass. I don’t only enjoy watching your videos but I’ve learned so much from your lessons that I’m so indebted to you.
I have lessons at a local music school but I cant find an actual Bass teacher at any of my local music schools, they are all Guitar teachers that teach a bit of Bass and for that reason I feel that there is something missing, especially when it comes to techniques that are specific to Bass. Your content is great Mark and well presented, I am considering only using TalkingBass and cancelling my weekly lesson ... a 30 minute lesson isn't cheep. The courses over at TalkingBass look like great value, not to mention all the free content. Has anyone else moved from private lessons to on line only ... your thoughts ?
It's always good to have one on one tuition at the start. But I personally had about 3 lessons and then taught myself. After 3 years I enrolled at music college where I learned a LOT. But being self taught is more than valid.
Haha...cheating! @3:27 the 4th finger C triad is started with the third finger! Thanks for the lesson and continuing awesome help! Phil in gorgeous Young Harris, Georgia, USA
so in other words learn the major scale learn to play it on one string learn the major, minor and diminished triads play them in keys in the correct order on the neck learn the cycle of fourth and fifths play them on the neck borrowing from other video you should learn the major scales of the cycles only in one position on the neck (1-6 fret) side note: probably better to start with 2 keys at a time when regard ing to learning the major scale and triads did I forgot something?
Trust me. It takes MANY millions of views per month to just make a normal living from UA-cam. None of the guitar/bass lesson people are 'youtube rich'. That's just a silly term that goes thrown around.

The fact of the matter is, Mark is the BEST! I have had many 'good' bass teachers, Mark stands out as the best. (But I may be simplifying).
Amazing. Always simple way to teach! Thanks!
Been so busy with work I haven't visit the channel in 6+ months. Looks like you trimmed up bro! Looking good! :D

Sims Super Quads

did I forgot something?
Ha I've never heard anyone describe diminished chords as "evil."
Metallicas Pulling Teeth sounds very similar to this construction
Does Sims send you free pickups or are you just UA-cam rich

@@talkingbasslessons well I'll keep viewing your content is top notch way better than Scott's bass lessons in my opinion
@@terdcutter3193 I never learned anything from that dude.
@@Nobody-11B right all that dude does is talk about his gloves
@@terdcutter3193 yeah it's pretty frustrating seeing as how he is a good bass player and definitely has a lot to teach.
