Not all performance spaces are created equal. This seems like an open mic or something where the sets aren't the primary focus of the audience and that's ok. Also theatre etiquette can be so stifling sometimes I long for a theatre setting that is more relaxed.

I disagree. It's a fairly commonly done show in community theatres and it has a popular junior version.

So clever. Great voice. Each page should have been placed in plastic sheets in a 3-ring binder. Then held up and flipped over one-by-one. Would have made for a smoother performance.

I don't understand why a casting director would care, except in the case where it's a core part of the show.
It really doesn't matter what the person who popularized the role looked like - it just makes me think, "Oh. You're insecure about your version of the show, so you feel the need to mimic someone else's."
Too Vagina-y and Too Soprano-y are the two that haunt me the most (also Too White but I can live with that)

Carrie hope fletcher is also a mezzo soprano and she has had loads of roles (especially leads) maybe look at what she done or any vocal arrangements shes done hope this helps

I'm Belgian and I've had to take speech lessons for 2 years just to get rid of my accent a bit so I can play theatre. And there isn't even a very big theatre business in Belgium so I still can't do theatre lol.

I'm Hispanic and I've played Glinda before. Without a blonde wig too. Honestly nothing should get into the way of the roles u want and no one should be allowed to tell you who you can and can't play based on what you look like. Honestly I'm grateful for Hamilton
t0tally isa although I'll probably never play George Washington in Hamilton being a 16 year old girl who is 5'. I can hit the notes tho but I'll probably never play a part in Hamilton unless they count ashkenazi as non white which they probably shouldn't but whatever ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
So far I've played one of the sisters in Pirates of Penzance which was really fun, and Harry Potter in this play that I wrote for my drama club at my school (long story). I'm against typecasting at all, like when I did Harry Potter again this yeah there was this red headed kid who wanted to play Ron, but he had the worst attitude you'd ever seen (he quit thank god) but he was playing hagrid. Thank god i had an understudy for him and she's the sweetest person ever and a much better actor. So now I have a black girl playing hagrid, which you probably wouldn't expect, but whatever works, especially with how amazing she is! So basically... idk what the moral is it's just a story about my life 😂

Fairly Automatic in my experience, and hers I’m assuming, schools don’t really do shows with actual villains for some asinine reason. If they do they’re usually bit part villains.

This is too relatable. I’m half black, five feet tall, but I have a very large vocal range and there’s no roles for me. I can sing opera, I’m an alto. No one wants to cast a girl who physically is too small for the cast but has such a large stage presence that she can’t even fit into the background. And that’s been a problem for me since I was 6. My dream roles are Elphaba and Christine, and to an unrealistic extent Alexander Hamilton. But I’m a girl, I’m half black, and I’m 5 feet tall.
You could always play Éponine in Les Mis! Or Sarah in Ragtime?

I'm 5'-2", so I do feel your pain. I'm too short to play most of the adult roles in shows, but too old to play the younger roles that typically go to those of us in the 5' and change category. Throw in that I'm Asian and can't dance (well) and yeah....

hey everyone who is too alto or too soprano: you can change that to a degree!!! I used to be so soprano like so so soprano. but I purposely started singing alto harmonies and now my range is rad. don't give up yet you can get there!!!!

i somehow get cast as the tenor in every single show i do with a tenor. i did newsies, singing a change in me from beauty and the beast and got cast as davey. i wore a tight skirt and a push up bra just to prove that my boobs were there and i still got cast as davey. i love him and he was so much fun to play (ya girl got to sing seize the day) but i was also asked to wear bandage to cover up my boobs which was fantastic.
