AT LAST !!!!! Thank you to Mick & Trudie for showing Green Lanes. On visiting London people get drawn into the city/west end tourist traps, and end up leaving London complaining how expensive everything is. Not in Green Lanes you won't. As East Enders, we have been using Green Lanes every week for nearly 40yrs. It's 15-20mns drive, including traffic, from St Pauls/Square Mile business district and worth every bloody penny to eat out there and . From fresh daily hand made cakes/bread ( Bakers to use : Yasar Halim - Antepliler ) offering beautifully decorated & boxed fresh cream cakes for £3.50 each to even finding the Rare & Historic " Rum-Baba " doughnut, that sadly seems to have disappeared from English bakeries. Your spoilt for choice on where to eat dinner & the are a few "no go " restaurants you need to avoid, but as long as you avoid the ones near the train station and eat further up in the ones near/around Yasar Halim Bakers your be fine. Prices have gone up since Covid, but compared to me treating my visiting Canadian relatives to eating in Wagamama's costing 6 of us over £300 to all eating out along Green Lanes for less than £180, with doggy bags taken home because the was so much left over, you can enjoy a fantastic night cheaply & be reminded of how lovely the Turkish/people food are.

Hi Mick and Trudie, another great video from you. I'm from London and so I know Green Lanes well. When my daughter's father came over in 1994 he immediately started working there but after the first week he left and got a different job locally to us. The thing I find is that I prefer the kebabs in UK which are much better than the ones in Turkey. I have always said that. 😋
Visited Istanbul and the food was average yet in both London and in Hamburg it's very good. I agree with u about the kebabs in Istanbul(city of thieves) the portions are tiny whereas in N London they r huge
It depends where you eat, there are lots of bad kebabs, doners etc. around turkey but if you know where to eat, you would absolutely like it. Also shop owners in different countries alter their food for their customers, doesn't matter where you're. That can make you like more food in your country because it's close to your used taste. I was in Berlin last week, I nearly hated all Turkish food I tried that but probably Berliners likes it. About portions, sadly turkey's economy getting worse and food quality, portions are dropping down.
Hi, actually the kebabs in Turkey prepared for the Turkish tastes. We can eat sushi in istanbul but i couldnt eat in Japan. So the kebabs in London they are prepared for English taste.
Hi Mick, just came across your videos recently. Excellent videos. Just one thing that I noticed; you have never mentioned Turkish Cypriots. As Cyprus was a British Colony from 1925 to 1960, Cypriots came to London from 1930's. Some are 4th generation Londoners. I have been here nearly 50 years. Turkish people from Turkiye started arriving many decades later, possibly late 1980's early 1990's.I enjoyed a few of your videos and subscribed. May be we will one day in person. Selamlar!!!
Lovely video! I love how they didn't actually make it exclusively Turkish and everyone is enjoying the meals and the lovely faces. Thanks for showing us around! :) bless you
i love green lanes but it's not all Turkish some shops are Jewish and Greek as well, but the best good value restaurants are Gokyuzu and antepliler which are Turkish. when i go these places i always have to have doggy bags as there is so much food. it's nice.
Another wonderful video👏👏many thanks to you for telling all the details about Türkiye and even little Turkiye in London with appreciable kindness. We learn a lot from your lovely videos. There is only one small mistake I would like to correct if you don't mind; şalgam suyu is not blackcurrent juice, it's turnip juice, blackcurrent is like black grape:) I will keep following you🙂💐
You have Turkish communities all over Europe. For instance in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. The food is gorgeous. Your Turkish is very good. I lived and worked 3 years in Istanbul unfortunately I never came anywhere near your level. Gaziantep is something special. We need to cherish our diversity.
A LARGE PERCENTAGE OF TURKISH AND GREEK PEOPLE STARTED IMMIGRATING TO LONDON, FROM CYPRUS BACK IN THE 1950'S AND 1960'S. DURING THE PAST 20 YEARS, MORE TURKS HAD ARRIVED IN LONDON, FROM TURKEY.
Great to meet you guys in person at the Salisbury pub, looking forward to your next adventure/video, thank you for posting the pub scene, happy travels...

Great video 🎉
Thank thanks
Hi Mick, just came across your videos recently. Excellent videos. Just one thing that I noticed; you have never mentioned Turkish Cypriots. As Cyprus was a British Colony from 1925 to 1960, Cypriots came to London from 1930's. Some are 4th generation Londoners. I have been here nearly 50 years. Turkish people from Turkiye started arriving many decades later, possibly late 1980's early 1990's.I enjoyed a few of your videos and subscribed. May be we will one day in person. Selamlar!!!
Amazing 🌹all your videos are brilliant
Mick Amca Eline emeğine sağlık bu güzel video için kolay gelsin hayırlı işler....👍👍👍👍

i love green lanes but it's not all Turkish some shops are Jewish and Greek as well, but the best good value restaurants are Gokyuzu and antepliler which are Turkish. when i go these places i always have to have doggy bags as there is so much food. it's nice.
Vey vey vey ....meeting amazing people i amazing town!!!
Just need a load of kitties now to make it purrrrfect 1😺😺😺
we love you as a turkish people,
Another wonderful video👏👏many thanks to you for telling all the details about Türkiye and even little Turkiye in London with appreciable kindness. We learn a lot from your lovely videos. There is only one small mistake I would like to correct if you don't mind; şalgam suyu is not blackcurrent juice, it's turnip juice, blackcurrent is like black grape:) I will keep following you🙂💐
@@ruhatmengi4207 not blackcurrant black carrot 🤠
Thank you for the video, it's nice to see traditional Turkish cuisine in London, I'll move to England as well.
Love this! I live on Green Lanes but the Palmers Grn end. We're very lucky with all the restaurants
40 years ago, when i lived there, green lanes was a cypriot community, both turks and greeks. the greek bakers were first class!
All the Cypriots both Greek and Turkish have moved down Green Lanes and can be located in Palmers Green Winchmore Hill Southgate Barnet area
Video..Cok Guzel...Her zaman!!
Love the video! 💕 You speak Turkish very well! 👏👏👏
Thank you çok sağ ol
Oh I see çiğköfte... That made my day thank you
Lots of tuks in Melbourne too. Love their food and shops. I’m dying to go to Türkiye ❤
A LARGE PERCENTAGE OF TURKISH AND GREEK PEOPLE STARTED IMMIGRATING TO LONDON, FROM CYPRUS BACK IN THE 1950'S AND 1960'S. DURING THE PAST 20 YEARS, MORE TURKS HAD ARRIVED IN LONDON, FROM TURKEY.
teşekkürler güzel video olmuş.
Great to meet you guys in person at the Salisbury pub, looking forward to your next adventure/video, thank you for posting the pub scene, happy travels...

Mick amca harikasın! emeğine sağlık !
Nice video guys. Bye the way "salgam suyu" is not blackcurrant juice, It is beetroot juice. Since I retired and moved to Northern Ireland I miss having Turkish food. Watching this video made me homesick. I miss visiting Green Lanes.
I didn’t say, blackcurrant juice, I said black carrot juice yes it does taste like beetroot juice a little 🤠👍
