Sloths and Cucumbers | Prime Time Short Film

The idea for this film production project was born from 2 of the additional workshops that were offered by the Creative Communities department during the Summer of 2023.
We commissioned a workshop with local film maker, Kriss Foster to create and edit short films using only the participants’ smart phones or department iPads. The aim of the session was for the Prime Time members to embrace the use of technology, demystify the film production process and make it accessible, by using only equipment and software that is readily available.
The other stimulus was an intergenerational workshop. Members from our Prime Time and Youth Theatre summer school groups were brought together and took part in a morning workshop of activities. Many of the participants stated it was the highlights of their involvement with respective projects…
… and this is where the idea for these short films came from!
The Prime Time members ‘interviewed’ members of the young company, and their words have been used verbatim in the film production process.
The films were planned, produced, filmed and acted in by our Prime Time members, supported by the creative team of:
