As a survivor of advanced clear cell renal cell carcinoma, I can confirm lots of what you said. I have a picture of the tumor, and it was huge by the time it was taken out with a right radical nephrectomy and partial uretecomy (it had invaded the vein). That was five years ago, and I think it has returned. Mine is probably hereditary because my mother had it. She didn't know, though, until she fell in her 80s and a scan showed it was there and had spread.
I think you can safely eliminate the “heredity” argument since your mom was 80 when she found out. That’s not how it works, especially considering that 80% of people won’t live till 80.
Thank You! My husband has a 2cm tumor on lower right pole. He is overweight. His doctor say it's 50/50 chance it's cancer. Well duh. Said my husband needs loose weight can't do a biopsy. The doctor is overloaded with patients. Definitely getting a second opinion. As this is my husband's right!!
Just lost my best friend to this darn cancer, so many symptoms we just shrugged off as stress and or other things. Love and miss you Madi ♥.
