In the 1980 it was a lot worse. There were so many cardboard houses in Manila and people were just going to the bathroom on the sidewalk. But the people in these areas are some of the best people in the Philippines...

Podemos ser pobres… pero limpios. Y sobre todo aprender a administrar efectivamente lo que obtenemos en los trabajos, por más humildes que sea el trabajo. Veo muchas personas en las esquinas sin hacer nada… pues pónganse a limpiar. Casi todos tienen cigarrillos… aquí en Puerto Rico, una caja de cigarrillos cuesta $14.00… allá parece que son gratis. Ahhhhh, y son extremadamente pobres pero tienen unos celulares que valga madre. No digo que no hay pobreza, pero por malas acciones la pobreza se convierte en extrema y en asquerosidad
