  • Condé's Product Manager Doug DeWitt presents the Neenah® ImageClip™ Laser Light Transfer Paper - Workflow procession. The paper is designed for the heat transfer of full color images with oil or oil-less laser color copiers or color laser printers to items such as T-shirts, handbags, mouse pads, leather articles, art papers, etc. IMAGE CLIP® works well on cotton, 50-50 blends and polyester. There is no need to trim the paper. IMAGE CLIP® Transfer Paper is self-weeding and leaves no background plastic polymer. Choose fabrics with a tight weave. Available at conde.com
    This video applies to Conde part numbers: ; Neenah ImageClip Laser Light Transfer Paper - 9770PO-1117C, 9770PO-8511C.

    First off, like to thank Conde for making good thorough videos. Glad to see step by step videos and not just words. I just wish I found it sooner cause I wasted lot of transfer papers. But glad I know where to go for trouble shooting. Doug has nice articulated voice to ease the panic situation .. lol

    Hi Doug loving your work. Very helpful. My t shirt design came out well but I noticed that pink and blues especially came out slightly different color. Also i washed the shirt at recommended settings and it faded. I left it for 24 hours before wash. I'm using ultra heavy 1 and printed ok

    Is it good or better to give it a final quick heat press with teflon on top?

  • @afdband1

    How do I know if i have the new formulation ( i just bought image clip form another vendor this week for testing purposes )
    It seems pretty light weight, I am assuming the older print sheet was thick? Thanks for your video good stuff

    can you weed the transfer... then press it onto the t-shirt the next day? I'm concerned about having to change the temperature of the heat press. Thank you. Jon

    I've had the same problems with the blues. I've tried several different settings and it doesn't seem to work. The only thing that makes it better is darkening the blue. At that point it is a very different color of blue. I prefer the other formula.

      Kyle Burns I agree. This paper has changed our style of design. The old paper that had the shiny look adhered to anything we designed from graphics to photos, from fade in colors to bold colors. We have messed up so much paper. We print with Okidata printers only. I wish the company would make them both and let us buy what works.

    I find the old formulation so much better :/ it felt like the transfer was part of the fabric, now my image is cracking before I even wash it and it feels like paper. Anyway to get my hands on the old formulation or has it all switched?

    • @condesystems
      @condesystems  8 років тому

      Sorry, but Neenah Paper is sticking to the new formulation. In regards to the cracking, make sure to allow the transfer to cool before removing it from the garment. Also, you can do a 2nd press with a Silicone or Teflon sheet over your design to soften the transfer and reduce the risk of cracking.

      ah no good.
      I tried all of that with no luck still feels really papery compared to the old stuff.
      thanks for the response tho, your videos really helped me out a lot.

    Hi! We're looking to do this sort of thing onto various types of leather - do you carry transfers that would work on that sort of substrate?

    • @condesystems
      @condesystems  8 років тому

      We do not. We hear there is a spray you can use but we have not tested it.

  • @kyleburns8542
    @kyleburns8542 8 років тому +1

    I should clarify my comment. The first step in the transfer paper does not stick to the graphic with blues. Which is why it is not transferring to the garment. After the first step press, look at the graphic to see if there are any areas that do not have the adhesive on it. If there are then you know the graphic won't fully transfer to the garment.

      Here are our suggestions: (1) Make sure you are printing at a 600 x 1200 dpi resolution from the OKI driver. (2) For the "weeding press", try increasing your temperature 10-15 degrees and increase your pressure by 1/2 turn on manual press or +10psi on an air-operated press. From our testing, you need to increase your temperature and pressure with the new formulation.

    Good night thanks for always showing the videos, you can only make these prints with this printer or you can use another one of the same brand but smaller, this is very expensive to start I want a small, which would be best, thank you very much.

    • @condesystems
      @condesystems  7 років тому

      So long as it is a Laser printer, you would be fine.

    Also I noticed that after you transfer the image to the shirt,
    all the image transfers, on mine there are still some images left on the transfer sheet

    • @condesystems

      Residue generally doesn't mean that much if your image is vibrant.

    Hi, I noticed that everytime I do cold peel, the image does not appear sharp, white stuff covers the image specially on black, but if I do hot peel, the image is fine...just not sure if its ok to do hot peel.

    got my oki and got the image clip for light, in the video it looks like you are pressing the red sheet to the shirt, mine is transfering image to the green sheet but not getting anything on the shirt, I have tryed several differnt settings and temps? Please help befoore I waste a whole pack of paper.

    • @condesystems
      @condesystems  7 років тому

      If you are getting a "residual image" from the imaging sheet (red grid) to the transfer sheet (green grid), then (a) you need to check the media weight setting on your OKI when printing (Ultra Heavy 2 for Neenah ImageClip Laser Light) and (b) you are probably using too much heat and/or pressure when applying the Transfer Sheet to the Imaging Sheet.

      Neenah ImageClip Laser Light transfer paper is compatible with color laser copiers and color laser printers that can run a 145 gsm media weight material. Please check your color laser copier or color laser printer for media weight specifications.

    I have a brand new OKI C610N color laser printer at home. I tried using neenah image clip laser light transfer paper (old formulation) just yesterday and my media type setting is labels 2. what happened was I printed successfully 3 papers. but the next one got misfed and wrap around the fuser roller and ruined my fuser. I spoke to OKI representative and he said that they will send me a new fuser. He told me that transfer paper must handle 446°F. What should I do? what driver setting should I use in order not to ruin my fuser and not waste my image clip laser light tranfer papers?

    • @condesystems
      @condesystems  8 років тому

      +Michael Cabanog ...............If you have the "old formulation" of Neenah ImageClip Laser Light, then (a) gently wipe the printing side with a "static eliminating" sheet, (b) feed the paper from your multi-purpose tray, (c) continue to run the paper in "Labels-2" media type and (d) do not attempt to run more than 3-5 sheets at one time. You will need to give your OKI C610n about 1-2 minutes between runs to allow the fuser to reheat. If you switch to the new formulation, it should eliminate paper jamming at the fuser.
