Hi Andrew, thank you. We buy a tin every year or so. If you don't want to buy a tin (It is a lot) you can check with the stores near you as some stores do sell smaller amounts. We just buy tins online.
Cheers Tim. Having a light source closer to the bottom make them congregate there and you end up siphoning more out in one go. Basically i turn the air off walk away for a while feeding fish checking for eggs etc. Then I come back and drain/siphon through the valve. If my fishroom lights are on full blast I leave my phone with the torch on next to the bottom. But majority of the time don't really bother with that.
I am not sure where you are bur here I ended up trying 4-5 brands and a couple of them worked. Maybe take the lid to a store and get the staff there try a few brands they have to see which one fits.
Hi Nicholas, there is a thermometer and red O-ring for the thermometer supplied in the box. Non of the other brine shrimp hatchers we bought had any airline (or lengths suitable for our purposes anyway so I hadn't even thought of that. Overall it is the design and user friendliness sets this one apart for us. Ultimately one can hatch brine shrimp in softdrink bottles too.
You should be able to find this hatcher at your local aquarium store if they carry this brand or you should be able to find it online. We bought ours online.
Agree. But I actually lift the whole thing by the handle and then decant the contents through a net I set up, so the short legs don't limit the use for me . Also the short legs allow the whole set up be on one of the shelves in my rack with the relative height. If I was trying to drain it while still on the stand it would get annoying though.
Awesome job!! A little more then I need right now, but it is going on my list!!
Cheers. It works great, if you need to hatch BBS you can't go wrong with this
Your review helps me a lot, thx. Will buy it. :-)
Schlangenkopffische. de glad it was useful :)
Nice review. Looks like a great hatchery. 👍
TM Aquatics Thank you. It is very easy to use so no more excuses to be lazy about hatching Brine shrimp 😂
What stops the eggs from sticking at the top of the waterline? That's been my biggest frustration at the moment.
Great detailed review, just ordered one, thanks! can I ask what eggs you use, can they be purchased online?

Thanks - do you need to use a light to attract hatched shrimp to the bottom, where the valve is?

With this product how do you separate the egg shells from the baby brineshrimp?
Use a small light to attract shrimp to opening near bottom of hatchery. They will collect near the light source.
Do you need the heater if the room stays around 77 degrees? If you do what size
what heater fits in the top? I'm looking for a heater that fits in there.

no, you still need a heater, a diaphragm pump and a relatively strong light above ...
