I Love My 70' Grandma, Green On Green, Black Vinyl Top, 307, Powerglide Chevelle!! You'll Never Find Me In It Without A Smile On My Face. Best $4,000 I Ever Spent.
Back in the 90's I went to a super chevy meet. Hundreds and hundreds of of Chevrolet. Parked among the big block after big block after big block Chevelles was a gold 1970 inline 6. Not sure the transmission type. It was a 2door base model with cloth interior and front bench. This car was 99% perfect. Right down to stickers and tags. It was getting more attention than the other chevelles. People loved it because it was a great example of a regular everyday car. I geeked out on it and loved it. The owner was surprised at all the attention. He ended up winning best in class and all the big block guys were incredulous. It's a car show after all and it was the best chevelle of all of them. Truly a treat to see. Most ended up in the crusher.
Amazing. A lot of younger people don't realize that when we were teens we could buy these cars or these types of cars for a few thousand dollars. I had three people on my street that drove to high school 1. 69 Z28 2. 1969 GTO in grabber red (orange) yes, with the flexible nose 3. 1970 Chevelle SS 454. And people modified most of them because the idea was a holly was faster than a stock carb, etc. etc. All three didn't have stock engines, block yes, add on parts no. They were cars then, not legends. And of course most teens wanted to make them faster. So to find these things unmolested really is pretty amazing.
I like hearing the History of the time. I grew up in that time period and i can validate your post, just so the other people reading it can get the right facts, history and 'feel' for the time. No doubt it was the greatest time for muscle cars and thats what we wanted then. Even though the poor young guys had no way of buying a new Chevelle when they are 16-18 or so. I wanted one but just had to settle for less. That fulfillment still haunts me and thats why i look at videos like this, i guess. I'm happy for the guys who get to fulfill that desire, for sure. Maybe the man who owns this Chevelle fills that bill. It would be cool to hear him in this comment section talk about the progress he's made and what all are his plans for it. Remember, this is a rare survivor car and needs respected for what it is. This car is a highlight of muscle cars. The pinacle of them. Top dog!

it is a sb but the original engine was that size too because L.S. never built a bb they are all small blocks this guy don't know his ass from a hole in the ground he calls bb chevys L.S. engines witch l's; never built a bb
It would be interesting to hear what it might be worth in this condition.
it is just a ss car not the L.S. car he is a dumb ass he has never worked on a car because he don't even know what a L.S. engine looks like he thinks a bb is a L.S. engine one problem L.S. never built a bb in history they are all small blocks
Do you know where the build sheet is usually located on a 67 el camino
They like to put the build sheets for El Caminos in the headliner... I hope this helps
(haven't finished watching yet) if you look at the start of the video the car has front drum brakes??? I'm not understanding why the pedal says disc but the fronts are drums unless I'm not seeing it
Nevermind I see the calipers now
Dude got really excited when he looked at those parts in the trunk.
Put the engine back in...clean it up...and leave it alone! Leave the patina it looks great!
Phenomenal
why they put in a small block with a 2 barrel carb and not fix the 454 🤷🏻♂️
FUCKING sacrilege
Back then we had gas wars/ could only buy a little gas at each filling station, they also had issues with insuring a performance muscle car !
Ohk didn't hear that. Kids be running around all crazy
So is the car for sale ? If it is how much?
I get bummed out seeing these cars all parked and not running and driving. It's like having a unicorn and then chopping its legs off.
Alright,alright,alright 😎👍🏻
Love your channel back in the day my post man had a black one
No your wrong the most epic is the Phantom blue with white stripes and white interior ! My uncle has a 1970 LS6 that color 4-speed original 18,000 mile car !
Derrick Geltmaker opinions are what we look for here so thanks for watching.
Would LOVE to see that color combination.
I think these cars only look right in the red with racing stripes or black with white racing stripes
1sticker missing on driver door above blue id sticker is suppose to be a larger white one
It was a clear protective sticker.
@@patrickglennnicholsmusclec1674 It is white on mine. And yes has clear protection over it just like the blue one
