- We are seeing the return of organic reach on Facebook and it's really exciting for us marketers.
For many years, the only way you could generate any organic reach on Facebook was through Facebook Groups.
That has now changed with Facebook Reels.
In this video I demonstrate the difference between Facebook Reels and regular Facebook posts in terms of organic reach...
And it's huge.
I also explain how you can use Facebook Reels to put your products and services in front of your prospects, without having to pay.

Wow, I'm so happy to hear that organic reach on Facebook is back! It's been a tough few years for small businesses and content creators trying to reach their audiences without relying on paid ads. This is great news for the social media community!
It sure is :)
We only post links to blog posts and have seen a huge jump in impressions since late October/early November. Previously our best posts would get about 2000 impressions, now the same posts are getting between 20k-40k impressions, like a switch was flipped. Some posts still perform poorly but it's like there was a limit on the reach that's suddenly been lifted.
That's very interesting - thanks for sharing.
I own few hundred facebook pages and i can tell that im getting more reach on links on 20k followers pages than on million follower pages. Lot of suggestions related content in the feed. Since mid 2022
Most small pages the links every 1 to 2 months get better reach than photos
So everyone is talking about the business page and followers and likes. But what's about a personal profile? My personal profile is linked to my instagram account and I gained over 20k followers on my personal profile (not business page) due to some viral videos (related to my niche). But with all honesty, I have no idea what to do with them or how to enegae because they are not friends. Will they see my content... ect? I haven't seen a single video that talks about the reach of a personal profile with the recent changes and introducing reels to Facebook. What's your tale on this?
Same . I have 22k on my personal Facebook account. Seems like some posts of mine go viral but only a select amount
So exciting! Changing it up to reels in FB now. So thankful for you!
Happy to help :)
Amazing video! Thanks Ben! Nice to know that reels are still in the game when it comes to organic growth. :)
Yeah it’s certainly good news
Excellent informative.

Fantastic, thank you Ben, I love your videos and the insightful things you share
Thanks a lot - happy to help
Reels are great, recently had a video do just over 35 million views and bring many sales
Wow - well done
He bro is it still back?
Any solution for not recommentable page ?
Every 3 seconds technique on your vid. nice
Hi Ben. I am in the USA and I am trying to learn direct response marketing skills. I do not have the budget to work with you but could you help point me in a direction of where to learn what you know with $0 or the path you took to get to where you are? I love your content. Its just overwhelming where to start in the marketing industry.
I like the new background setup!
Thanks a lot - glad to hear it :)
Im thinking of doing lot more content and looking for a IT setup-can you share how you record your videos and which platform you use to record and then give to your team to edit and then to post? Thanks 🙏🏻
I have 17,000 followers for my FB page and 3 of my cousins and a few others seem like the only people who see my posts. Seems like the best/most important posts get seen the least.
Thanks for the video! Loved it very much!
Thanks for watching :)
I have to push back against a few things here... FB reach will often go down when your page gets big because people lose interest in your topic and don't engage anymore. Organic never really went away, you just need to adjust your approach. Over the past 4 years my clients have had HUGE engagement with organic only. They are making sales and not boosting or running ads. Lastly, the reason reels get more views is not because more of your audience is seeing it, it's because FB is showing it to a new audience (as well as some of your own audience). So what has really changed is that now we can get in front of "non followers" much easier than we could before. It's a great way to find new customers and get more page likes. I'm a big fan of reels (although I hate how they display them on your page) and overall I agree it's smart to use them. However I just don't understand how social media experts keep saying organic reach for page followers is/was dead when it obviously isn't/wasn't.
The delusion that organic is effective is off the roof. Business wise, it's not the ideal tactic to go.
Reels are OK to get additional reach beyond your followers, but imo when you check paid ads performance metrics - and especially video consumption metrics - the placement does pretty bad. which in turns contributes to the placement not being saturated with ads and provide organic reach
It's played a major role in me building a multiple 7-figure agency. I have substantial organic audiences on FB & YT and they have generated millions in revenue for my business.
So your reach won't go down as an actual number - you will just reach a smaller percentage of the people that follow you. Those are different things.
I'd rather reach 20,000 people out of 300,000 than 2,000 out of 10,000.
Organic never fully disappeared but we are seeing significantly more of it now than we have over the past few years and that's the issue here.
@@John_Bull_ I agree with that and it is an issue. I wish FB would allow us to remove followers that have been inactive for a long time much like we scrub and email list. I just don't buy into the hype that FB is doing things to lower your organic reach. The right kind of content will get you plenty of reach and engagement.
Starting posting here again.. after instagram became so slow
Hi Ben, let say I have one CBO campaign with 2 ad sets (each adset has 2 ads). One adset is interests- based & the other one is LLA. The result with interests-based made hundres of sales, meanwhile with LLA only made 20-30 sales
Would you kill LLA's adset then just let interests-based adset run alone? So it will make me running one CBO campaign with only 1 winning adset with two ads. Let me know what you think.
Thanks Ben! 🙏🏻
Where to add your website link? usually is easier cause the link is very apparent in your bio! On fb it's a challenge for them to find the link. Correct me if I'm wrong!
Starting a chimney clean, gutter cleaning, pressure washing service here locally. I'm sure those markets are saturated but could possibly still turn a greater profit then a regular 9 to 5. How much do you think would cost to see a return on facebook or even make it on the first page of Google search.
That's a good business to advertise on FB - yes there is competition but way less than most industries (because you are only competing against other providers that are local to you) AND most of them don't have a clue when it comes to marketing.
It's quite easy to be the best marketer in that your area in that niche.
In terms of investment, start with a few hundred a month and go from there. If you use a good introductory offer you should get leads coming in pretty fast.
i love your videos, what editor are you using?
Happy to hear that 😘
Me too!
Do you recommend on publishing the reels on Instagram and Facebook together or each platfrom by itself?
You go either way on that.
Yes i did realise that recenyly and I post more reels now
Nice :)
Watching this video made me come up with an idea - could you theoretically upload a few reels AND then take all people who engaged with your reels and target them with your ads? So like instead of trying to find the best interests to target you just post a reel and let the algorithm find an audience you could then "lookalike" for your ads? Does this work that way?
Yes
Yes you could do that but it wouldn't effectively replace cold audience targeting. You are incredibly unlikely to get the millions of views required to match the audience sizes that you would often see with interests. That difference in audience size really matters.
Awesome
Another great video. This is Facebook only (not Instagram), right?
Thanks - yes that's right. Although you can of course get organic reach on Instagram Reels as well
This is amazing news!
Sure is :)
Thanks for this.. can you run ads to FB reels and do you recommend that?
What do you think about the new update for targeting?
so you would recommend to create a paid ad with sales objective for fb and insta reels then retarget people who watch a specific percentage?
You could do that - but I wouldn't usually limit myself to just reels with that set up.
Interesting engagement for a personal brand. How to leverage reels for an e-commerce brand though, and what are the results there like?
You can certainly do this for an ecommerce brand, you just need to make your reels engaging enough.
Thank you! :)
Happy to help :)
Please create one video series on app marketing through Facebook ads
Quality
I have no idea how any of this works? Your audience seems well informed though. I need to find or make something to try and sale. I mean where do I start?
Now that Amazon & FB finally allow attribution, does that mean conversion campaigns will now work?
What is a conversion campaign
Thank you
You're welcome
ben is there any update on facebook , my result and my friends rsult is very bad messages and conversion from 10 days ago
No - I think that is likely a coincidence.
Hi Ben thanks for this amazing video! please I just need huge favour if you could drop me Link for the video you talked about lifetime/daily budget. I checked couldn't find it. thanks
Thanks for watching :)
It's an older video but still applies. Here you go: ua-cam.com/video/nHDIh0VKqUs/v-deo.html
@@BenHeath Much appreciated Ben, well detailed
Is there any kind of penalty for posting the same content to my Facebook page and to Facebook reels?
Not really - your audience might get bored of it.
Yeah me and my clients get insane reach on some of our reels
Awesome - nice work
Hello Ben ! Can I ask you something? It's about how Facebook manage their bills for ads. for example, let's say I do ad set lifetime budget ($70) /daily budget ($10) for a campaign and when I look at the billing receipt, Facebook did not collect all the full $ .. like $62.4 (for lifetime budget) when I set my ad set budget $70? why and how does that happen ??
Sometimes the exact budget amount won't be spent - it depends on a lot of factors such as audience size, competition, etc.
@@BenHeath thank you so much ben ! so at which circumstances when all your budget would be spent ? does it depend on your ad performance or calendar week?
Ben what are you using for your screen recorder? I love the round bubble viewport for you on this. It's very personable.
Thanks :)
It's actually a separate camera and my editors put it all together.
You can get a similar effect using Loom. Has a cool free plugin for Chrome.
Aren't IG Reels the same as FB reels? I know IG Reels serve on FB feed when scrolling and it presents feed section.
You can use the same media but they will perform differently depending on when you upload.
@@BenHeath Thanks!
I can tell you from experience, you should post it to Instagram, let it "suggest" on Facebook, and then also post it directly to your Facebook page. The Facebook posted versions generally get WAY more views organically on average. Obviously trying to compete with TikTok. IMO Tiktok videos generally are harder to get to trend but the engagement seems to be more valuable and authentic. Just my 2c.
As everybody is ditching Facebook seems natural that now Zuckenberg has decided to upbring organic reach once again lol
User numbers would say otherwise
I set up a Content Creation page using reels, In 2 days i had reach of 60k, but it just died completely. What do i do?
Could that be down to the individual pieces of content? Perhaps something did particularly well for a couple of days.
I read that it was because facebook help you reach a certain point then stops it to force you to do ads. Cant really afford ad, this was my way to maybe earning a different way. Ill keep plugging away at it
@@BenHeath
How do we go about it.
Man this is great except I dont get reels uploads on my FB page :(
You need to do so via a mobile device
so only in reels!
It's been back for a few months now. First noticed it back in July 2022.
Interesting - I haven't see it even from others for that long - but all accounts are different. Thanks for sharing :)
@@BenHeath link posts are really bad but my organic reach has been quite fire since last summer. GaryVee was talking about it in a keynote. I thought I just had a few posts that got a lot of shares but it's been consistently high since around then.
Is it still back bro?
@@Ak-ph9xt I am still seeing some good organic reach on FB but it depends a lot on engagement (namely shares).

Sadly this is all dependant on what your industry is… To my thinking Reels are going to speak to the same mindset as the TikTok audience and convert “monetary” wise only to those folks.
Organic has never been totally dead, it’s just that you really have to earn “organic” traffic …. I’ve proven over and over IF the post is “sensational” you get great organic results ….. the issue is the language of “click bait” has de sensitised the consumers brain 🤷♂️
Well not really - Reels is generating more organic reach across the board. Of course some industries get more views than others and always have, but that's not the the important thing here. The important thing is that Reels represents an organic opportunity.
@@BenHeath thanks, I’ll be honest having spoken to my own audience about this, they tended to agree with my sentiments and are very anti ticktok. I agree an opportunity but I still feel it’s far more audience demographic driven than just for everyone 🤷♂️
Your own reels are great for grabbing my attention as I’m always looking to learn or qualify a piece of knowledge … for my school it could be perfect, but for my product buying folks, looking at $xxxx ticket purchases, not so much
Thx Ben !
My pleasure :)
Is it similir for IG reels also?
From my experience - no. The same reel gets 300k views on FB and only 2.5k views on IG. In a 3.000.000 people market.
@@samilisadeikis5658yo bro does organic reels still work on facebook?

My profile engagements are very low than usual, and I don't know what to do 😢 i change my profile pic and I get only 18 to 20 likes max sometimes even less , and I have 900 friends and I check other profile pics I see 100 likes and more , can someone help me with this plz 😢🙏🙏
Could just be that people are less interested in the new profile image?
How to get organic reach for doing Facebook lives?
The key is to makes the lives really good and really engaging and they’ll get more and more reach over time.
I don't use Facebook but I do advertise on it.
It's interesting to see the videos and posts that do go "viral," it's very vanilla and usually fake or staged content that had some weird SJW undertones.
It's very dystopian / propaganda feeling.
I only about around 70-80 followers and my reels get 200-300 views so it goes beyond your following
It can do depending on the quality of the content
I just want to clarify: the organic reach increase is via reels on your FB business page, not a personal profile? Some are using their personal profiles for business too.
I haven't personally tested via my personal profile - just my business page. But from what I have seen from others, it is across the board when it comes to Facebook Reels.
Fantastic. Thanks for the info!
It works too 👍i have tried that myself
It works on personal profiles . I have 263k on my personal account from 2012 . I have now gotten invited to Facebook’s monetizing thing. My reach is only 220k so far . It’s been 11 days so far .
@@alexhernandez9064yo bro does it still work?
Could you please speak a little slower?
My mother tongue Isn't English, so for me it really difficult to understand all your lines 😓
Facebook Post will reach our followers and Reels are reaching more non followers
I think Reels are reaching more of both.
I do insta reels which links to Facebook. Does that work? It's tiring to post on Instagram and then Facebook again
I wouldn't not do something because it's tiring. It either is worth doing or it's not.
help! we have a page with our free content: ruthsroad but a friend set it up as a business page and we have 24000 followers but hardly anyone sees out posts unless we pay! this sucks! can we take out followers and turn it into a personal page and how? Also, if we build a website, how do we get our followers to the website?
