-Cut & placed microfiber cloth between screw & disc.
-Spray water on pad & disc, 10 secs Coarse, wipe disc
-Spray water, 10 secs Soft, wipe disc
-Spray water, 1 min white, wipe disc
-Spray water, 1 min blue, wipe disc
Followed steps to the tee but unfortunately leaves tiny scratches all over disc & forms swirl on the center. 😕
You diss him...
You probably already know this, but an excellent replacement for the blue and white compounds can be found at any automotive store. Get a bottle of MacGuires Ultimate Compound as a replacement for the white, and MacGuires Ultimate Polish as replacement for the blue. Its much cheaper, smells better and in my opinion, works better. Been using it for a while now.
Better still, buy the Meguiars Plast RX alone and it works perfectly, and even better than both the white and blue JFJ ones. By using just the one you save on buffing pads too, which I find expensive. On that note, anyone know of an alternative that works?
@@jonlawrance8383 Do you still use the Meguiars Plast RX alone? does it work well as a replacement for both?
Or you can buy the compounds meant for the product...
@@cheezyfriez12 they suck lol. And way to expensive. Mcquires is a better finish and cheaper.
Just ordered one! Can't wait to try it out. I have so many games from yard sale pickups that need some attention.
Followed this video step by step and wow. Thank you so much. These discs are looking brand new again. Great video!
got this 2 days ago, I kept getting mediocre results with swirls all over the disc. thanks to your video all my discs are coming out with a proper mirror finish so thank you🙏
Battery washers work well to cover the inner plastic ring (like for your car). I like to do 1 minute on the white pad, 1 minute with the blue, and 1 minute on the black (no sandpaper). Comes out perfect everytime.
Do you need any modifications to the battery washer to fit?
@@miladanki8380 they usually come in 2 segments, like an outer ring and inner ring, i just pop out the inner ring and use that with no modification.
All your'e really doing is creating a small spacer between the disc and the screwnut so that the the washer prevents too much heat transfering to the disc in that area.
Thanks. The process is very much like auto detailing and paint correction. I made my own foam finishing pads.
Hey Reno thanks for help. Still haven’t broke down to get a JFJ yet but when I do I’ll definitely revisit this video.
Miss your content, picked up a JFJ this weekend and got my discs looking minty with your advice. Thanks!
I've noticed that if you use the foam sanding pad without the sandpaper on it after the 2 buffing steps and spray it with water, it looks even better. I also use a cheap car towel that I got at the Dollar Tree for wiping down the disc. Doing this makes the disc look like its brand new.
Had my JFJ for a few years. It has paid for itself several times over.
I don't use the sanding pads hardly ever. 2 minutes on white, 2 minutes on blue, then wipe. Bam!
Anything I ruin by sanding. I trade to big retail game stores.
That's what I like to hear!
Thanks for the tips! I've got a JFJ that I barely ever used because the results weren't great. But I'll give your methods a try.
I have the tiny swirl mark issue. I’ve never thought about wetting the pad before applying compound but it makes perfect sense. Thank you. Now I gotta try it.
Juice it up!
Also have this issue and can’t seem to get rid of it 😢
Great timing on this video. I just ordered a JFJ a day ago!
You'll love it!
Try using those round flat cotton makeup pads. Save you from having to cut out the felt ones.
Hey man. Great video. Quick question. Do you leave the middle cloth in for all or just sanding?
I was just looking for a disc cleaner today. 😎🖥👍
Great video! Is there a way to get absolutely no swirls at all? Mirror like disc? Following your method with the water I've been able to reduce the swirling its a lot less noticeable but didn't know if I could get rid of it entirely, thanks!
The week I consider buying a resurfacer and Renebean makes a video about it. Thanks dude!!
Travis Moses JFJ is a great machine, def worth it if you constantly buy used games.
Bro a question, i have a mario kart double dash for the gamecube. I went to the professional disc repair resurface game store. They cleaned it professionally (disc resurfaced machine) twice, first time highest level and second time on a lower level. There are no scratches at all, the disc looks almost brand new, however, when i play it, it all works, except when you go from one level to the other level. Then i get the message on the screen to turn of the power button of my nintendo, i have the same issue with the wii and the gamecube while playing this game. Please what seems to be the problem? Should i go to let the disc to be repaired professionally again?
☆☆☆☆☆Generally it works to apply and oil like peanut oil to the area of the disc that is scratched. Once you're able to read the disc, you can copy the disc to another disk for backup. I have done this mini times and it works marvelously without any effort whatsoever.
Great vid brother some good tips I didn’t know about the JFJ one question are there different pads for the game cube games or are they the same keep up the good work god bless
Same pads but use them only for GameCube and not on regular disc after you use them
Renebean ok because I seen on eBay that they have a specific one for GameCube games but if u say it’s ok to use a new one just for that then I’ll do
Liquid soup and water then clean soft cotton to wipe dry
I have a Melee and a Mario Party 7 that don't work. Both were resurfaced at a local video game store, and they still don't work. (It looked like they used a cheap machine.) If I mailed them to you and paid for return shipping, could you try and get them working for me?
I've tried everything the internet is saying and I still have swirls. I'm gonna try to apply the compound on the disc like you.
I'm still trying to figure out how to get rid of the swirls. How wet are your white and blue pads before you put them in the system. And how much blue polish do you put on the pad? Do you do 5 drops of blue polish on each side of the pad? Do you rub it into the pad? It looks almost like you applied no compound to the blue pad at all.
Also I have a jfj easy pro but I don't have a official gamecube backing plate but if I did I wonder how would i remove the backing plate! Also could you make a video on how you change the backing plate? Also how much of a difference do you think it makes having a gamecube backing plate because i have fixed a few gamecube games without changing the backing plate!
Do you store your pads in sandwich bags when not in use?
Thank You!
Hi hoping you would be able to help me after finishing a disc I can remove the scratches but it is leaving lines on the ring just next to where it buffs and these lines happen after using the sandpaper and the don’t play because of the lines the rest of the disc is fine though, any help highly appreciated as It’s really starting to annoy me and I can’t fix any discs
Just ordered my JFJ Easy Pro with that Stimulas money. Thanks for the tips Renebean.
You're gonna love it
Yea don't waste it on food and energy.
BeastSlayer14 very smart investment
I never had much luck with the JFJ Pro so I sold it and bought an ELM ECO Autosmart.
Great video but does this work great or have alternative steps for blue-ray disks along with other disks (PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, etc)? I am asking because I also have an JFJ Easy Pro and there is this Xbox 360 game that is moderately scratched that I want to fix and the bad instructions say it is recommended to use a JFJ Eyecon instead because of how these kind of disks are different.
Thanks for sharing again.Sometimes I do get the light swirls and I do use a spray water bottle. So I will take your nuggets of info and see if that helps.
Do you have to have the gamecube plate for it to work?
I love it. I need to get a JFJ.
Just solidified my reason to get a JFJ after all these years of having games not work and leaving them on the shelf. Wonder how many games my parents just threw in the trash once they knew/heard it wasnt working.
you will love it!
@@Renebean im 100% sure I will! Thanks for all you do brother! So many of your tips have helped me out with getting more games in the collection
How is it
?
Idk if I am doing something wrong or what but all the discs I tried resurfacing still don't work. They are ps2 games and the scratches arent too deep.
Pretty cool vid!
Thank you Julie
I have the easy pro as well and it's a life saver for any reseller! Did you buy the gamecube specific pad or are you using the regular big ones?
Regular pads but once you use them for GameCube games you can't use them for regular disc
@@Renebean u do realize your disc games will be 100% shiny and clean and fresh so u can start over
@@Renebean gamestop and jjgames and pandora's cube should do theirselves a favor stop putting the game discs in the plastic sleeve and try something new
Perfection
i had a working gamecube game put it in to get scratches off and now it doesnt work...have you ever had that?
Instead of wiping the last bit of residue off, why don't u just run it under water?
Coming from a car detailers pointer of view......pull the tags off those towels! Tags will scratch the hell out of anything they come in contact with. Other than that, keep up the great videos!!
great point. I used to detail cars as well don't know why I didnt think of doing that or mentioning it.
Awesome video, not sure if you’ve have this happen to you but I tried using my JFJ on an Xbox one disc and it completely destroyed it. I don’t recommend using it on them.
Never use it on modern disc that have the blu ray coating
Renebean I learned that the hard way! Lol
Hey reanbean I don't know if it has ever happened to you but did you ever have a gamecube game oddly not play on a actual gamecube but when you try it on a wii system that is backwards compatible with gamecube the game played just fine? The reason i ask is because i am curious if that is a problem with the disk or the gamecube because I have had a similar issue with some playstation games where it played fine on a ps3 but wouldn't play on my ps2 system!
The Wii has a better laser in it I'm sure it can see through scratches a bit better
You can open the GameCube up and adjust the laser with a screwdriver. Lots of videos online on how to do it
Hey, Renebean, I tried using a makeshift out of an old microfiber cloth, sprayed the pads till they were completely wet, applied the compound onto the disc, and I still ain't getting the results I want. What else should I do?
I find that using lots of the blue finishing buffing compound yields the results I want. Dont be scared to be generous with it.
Swirl marks are the results of dry compound on the pads, wash out your pads every week or so
I was wondering how many times you can resurface a disk
So I asked a guy at the video rental place
He said he has done one disk over 100 times kinda hard to believe
Thanks😄
You're welcome!
I need a JFK pro thanks for the pointers
Thanks for watching
Im having zero luck with this machine… I’ve tried all the different suggestions I’ve seen on this video or other videos on UA-cam and tried the instructions way. Any help? I’m so confused why I can’t have any success at all
I asked a store if they could resurface a GameCube game and they advised against resurfacing GameCube games because it ruins them they said. Any thoughts on that?
Well as you see in the video it saved the GameCube games
I got some games that are super rough but work still need a resurfacing. Don't know anyone around that does it so I threw em up on eBay someone is going to make some money once they clean them up
Will it buff out deep scratches?
Yes
Bro, I went to your description to find an affiliate link to that product. Im about to watch this and if it works well, I want it.
Glad you like it but I'm no affiliate to it but just a man who likes the product

I might buy one this week. Got a whole bunch of games I need to fix. I was going to do it by hand, but you showed me the light. Thanks :)
you ever had a gamecube disk that wouldn't read after resurface ?
Saving games and making money... win/win!
Damn straight!
You need to get the machine in the picture. How is it used? That's what I am looking for.
I bought a jfj easy pro a few years ago. It made ps1 and dreamcast disc look horrible. I called customer service and they told me it was because I was trying to do the hardest ones. They had all the swirls in them. Do you have a video showing what a ps1 disc looks like after you resurface it?
Yikes you did it way too long I’m pretty sure when I resfurace my ps1 disc it doesn’t do it I usually do them for 1 min depending on scratches
@@drousuh6903 when I call JFJ and the person on the phone walks me through the procedure and tells me exactly how long to do each step, and the disc still comes out looking horrible, it's the machine.
I just learned to do it in waves of 10-20 seconds, been using minute options for buffing on working cds, bit 7/10 it will make em work. Stated doing it for 20 seconds and. It's so much better.
Do you get less swirls that way?
@@bradylavy9592 yes, the pad has to be at least damp. And I spray on my cd sometimes too. If it's too bad, I'll go to sanding as a last resort
I clean disc for 2 mins CD would look sorta nice but still won't play
I love ur vids and I won a 150 gaming lot I was soooooo happy
Thank you and congrats!
Does this work on the Invalid Disc Errors on the Wii U?
For Wii discs yes but Wii U games can only be buffed not sanded as it would ruin them
Hey, are you taking requests still? I have about 15 DVDs I need resurfaced.
your just pro at it
Can I resurface ps3 or xbox360 games?
You can 360
I went to movie trading company and they fucked up my mario sunshine and double dash discs looked brsn new but the inside of the game the clear part of the gamecube disc where it attaches to the gamecube was a little bit open and there was liquid inside I was so mad I should've send them your way. Funny thing was the games worked before I got the resurfaced
never resurface a game if its already working. Sorry for the loss
Show the machine!
I don't even own any physical disks anymore what am I doing here?
IM SAVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Im looking to sell my entire collection, i am in the Dallas Forth Worth area. Do you happen to know anyone in this area interested? Thanks for any input or direction!
I'll keep an eye out
Cheap machine??
$300 is "CHEAP"...?
I was just looking for a disc cleaner today. 😎🖥👍
Look no further!
