    Thanks so much for the links to the adapters. I cant tell you how many videos ive watched where they just throw a gamecube disk into the JFJ without anything else and with no detail.

      I'm glad it may have helped in some way! Yeah it's weird they aren't on Amazon for sale. Too many people using the machine wrong for gamecube games and it destroys the discs edge and can cause DREs.
      I'll make a better video eventually about it since it's been a popular topic and I still want to show it save a good scratched up one. I just haven't found any more gamecube games locally and I can't hunt at the moment due to the current situation we all are in.
      Can't wait to go check Goodwill and garage sales again to save some scratched up discs from the garbage.

    Nice vid, I have been using a jfj for about 3 years. First one I bought was used and through those years and a lot of trial and error I have successfully resurfaced many discs even GameCube discs sold and without problems. Recently that machine broke down so I got a new One and decided to get the GC adapter afte almost an hour and it eating through the pads I can’t get them without hairline scratches. They look alright or maybe I have set my standards high though the years but I’ll try this spray method.

    • @pixel_overkill
      @pixel_overkill  5 років тому +1

      The 50/50 Rotate and Spray method has REALLY changed how my machine works and helps prevent severe friction issues I had prior to that method.
      I literately had smoking issues where the pad was overheating without just a little bit of pre-spray.
      I really hope this helps you too!

    I always spray the disc and the polishing pad with some water, before adding the compound.
    I don't use the official compound though, as the discs came out with a horrible finish, looking awful.
    So I use Meguiars Ultimate Compound, which works amazingly well with the JFJ Easy Pro.

    Great video. Really like the method you're using. I'm about to get one of these machines.

    • @pixel_overkill
      @pixel_overkill  5 років тому

      I've used this machine for tons of discs and it has saved discs that looks like a Rake went over them. It's the best investment for personal collection and also saving games you might find at Gamestop, Goodwill, Salvation Army, and Other Thrift stores!
      If done properly it will create a polished mirror finish and not the crappy resurfaced look that you'll get from poor quality Disc Doctor type examples.
      If anything happened to my machine, I'd gladly buy another one. It's that good.
      Also about the Sanding pads I couldn't figure out previously. It's the same as the buffing pads you'll need a special gamecube sanding pad you can buy from JFJ. It's shorter in height then the normal discs. I listed it above in the description ^. I'll make sure I cover that in video #2 when I get a REALLY scratched game that doesn't work.

    Hi i was wondering about that hard drive booter for Wii.
    I'd like to see if my GC discs are 💯
    Is there a link or website you can point me too?

      You can actually find info about it right here on youtube. Look up Nintendo Wii Softmod and Hard Drive boot. It's not too hard of a process to do and allows you to catalog and verify your discs into one spot and preserve your library from wear and tear.

    You don't use no sanding pads at all? Even the sanding pads that were made for GameCube discs?

    • @pixel_overkill
      @pixel_overkill  4 роки тому +1

      Depends on the damage. A lot of damage can be buffed out without even sanding unless really bad damage.

    Hi do you know how to install the GameCube adaptor? I can not find any guide on how to remove the other disc and put the Adaptor

    • @pixel_overkill
      @pixel_overkill  5 років тому +1

      Absolutely! There's a included flat wrench that is incredibly important. It slips behind the disc to hold it from spinning. Then you take a Medium/large flat head and un-screw the Spindle in the center. Swap the Gamecube adapter on and use with Gamecube pads only.

    • @pixel_overkill
      @pixel_overkill  4 роки тому +1

      You'll also want a sanding pad dedicated to the GameCube discs as well. They have everything labeled nicely on the site.

      @@pixel_overkill you spoke about a 40$ addition you bought to make sure the discs don't mess up, was it an add on to the Easy Pro or were you just talking about the modded wii?

    • @pixel_overkill
      @pixel_overkill  4 роки тому

      @@agcool272 Very likely was talking about the parts you need to order from JFJ as I try not to discuss the Modded Wii. That was more of a tool which is great to fully test the disc as it does a 1:1 disc read and dump and if there's any issues it'll fail. So it's a great tool as you can play some games with a 75% good disc but say you get to the last boss and.the disc is bad it may fail then. So playing it doesn't always test if it's fixed.
      I believe I was talking about how a lot of people try to use normal DVD mount, and pads on GameCube discs. It's not worth ruining your normal disc gear or GameCube discs.

    So you didn't use the sanding pad, only buffer pad?

    • @pixel_overkill
      @pixel_overkill  3 роки тому +1

      Depending on condition you won't always need to use sanding pads pending how deep the scratches are so your needs will vary. Sometimes you'll need to buff and polish. Sometimes you could legit just polish even. It depends on how much damage. Eventually you'll get a knack for what you'll need. Less is better as you can't take back how much material you remove.

    How to you swap the plates out tho

    • @pixel_overkill
      @pixel_overkill  2 роки тому

      You use a Flat head on the center nut and the included flat wrench to remove the center disc. It's a bit of a fight but works like a charm once you figure it out.

      @@basedslugma3752 Yup that's intentional since you don't want it unscrewing as it rotates. It's pretty straightforward when you look at it and have the tools. They just don't include the flat head screw driver which is a common tool thankfully.
