I’m fairly new to painting minis but I started to mix 3 drops of gun metal (armypainter) 1 drop isopropyl alcohol, and a drop of any speedpaint colors to get a light metallic color, and pre painting a shining silver on a rock and using blood red comes out a unique nitra color to me thanks for vids enjoy
I will have to try that! Thanks for sharing that combo. My last attempt to merge the metal and speed paint didn't work well so I went with just painting over it after that with speed paint.
I'd like to see what you do with the Oppressor or the Spitballer. EDIT: To add, I'd also like to see an overview video of your equipment and tools in your kit.
@@masternova28 Sorry for the delay, I'm still feeling out the format of these videos as I start hitting this channel hard for the next 12 months to see where it goes. Maybe I do a little "short" one unrelated to painting something specifically on my "current" gear? I'm open to feedback. I'm a consumer of channels like Goobertown, ninjon, Watch it Paint It, etc, but I am making these off my scattered brain prefences of 10-15 minute on average quick sessions.
@@enzomathieu2576 Thats the plan. I think I managed to get 1-2 of each model printed off in resin from the Kickstarter STL's they provided. I'd like to be table ready assuming it shows up by Xmas :) I hope to get back on track with 1-2 a week. I'll just ignore Darkest Dungeon and Skyrim when they show up and taunt me with all those minis.
My normal is just the "Primer" version of Rustoleum I pickup locally at HomeDepot or Walmart. Example www.walmart.com/ip/Black-Primer-Rust-Oleum-American-Accents-2X-Ultra-Cover-Flat-Spray-Paint-12-oz/973827135?classType=VARIANT&athbdg=L1100&from=/search I avoid their "2 in 1" Primer and Paint versions as they are too thick for our detailed miniatures. If it's winter time, sometimes I use a cheap airbrush for priming with Badger primers indoors. Google this for that product Badger-Air-Brush-Co-SNR-410 Black primer, then I might just do a white down zenithal primer, which I believe was one of the models in the Revised Episode 1 if you want to see more of how I primed. I think that video I redid went a bit more into all of that and tossed in some "slapchop" as well with dry brushing. Now all that being said, I did just order Monument Hobbies (Pro Acryl) primer cans and will probably post the results if that stuff is worth twice the price or not sometime in the near future.
So the base on this, and upcoming driller release (finally) was the white. Now I have been experimenting with brushing on a tad more white highlights on specific spots I really want to pop out more. It has proven really effective with glazes and AP speedpaints. So on this gunner for instance, the forehead and hair top I would hit with a bit more, but since I did metal over the armor there wasn't any point there really.
@@hopelesshobbyaddict Awesome, thanks for such a detailed response! I'm planning to get some AP speed paints and following along with the videos, so I appreciate you making them!
@@AlexLange9 you bet. I was like...No one is doing this yet, so what better time to start painting and posting on a UA-cams to at least share some ideas. :)
You did not mention this, but did you wash these miniatures before? And also, did you base-coat them with spray or any base-color? For tabletop games it's most of the times advised to do so.. mhhh!
So these are all direct prints off my resin printer, believe I mentioned in description notes. For the actual board game pieces I recently got, I did wash them before rattle can black prime. I'll mention that as I'm refilming Episode 1-4 as I paint the box minis to fix the camera angles.
Around 1:30 I did mention I did a zenithal prime, but yes, I believe I got better as the series goes on on breaking down my priming I use at least. Very new world for me when I started out here making these. :)
@@hopelesshobbyaddict Thank you for the quick reply. English not beeing my first language I think I did not know primer is a base coat. :D I really appreciate your videos as someone who just started tabletop gaming last year and got this box and is a little overwhelmed by the amount of Minis. Haha.
@@preekja I hope these help you find some ideas then and get them painted up then. I have Darkest Dungeon to try to paint next. That one has me overwhelmed just looking at so many miniatures.

You should paint the DPR dwarfs as 40K squats/Leagues of Votann
I have yet to fall into the 40k universe outside of video games. I'll have to take a peek at Leagues of Votann.
‘I hate nature’
Driller is next...but who should I do after that!?

Scout please! And thanks for making these videos!
Can you paint the 4 dwarves and why not all the monster in the deep rock board game ?

Did you use the recommended matt white primer spray for this model? If not, why not?
