Same. Then I read the Grisha trilogy (well, I'm still reading it; I have a bit of the third book left), and now I recognize more little details. I also got the ending spoiled for me by reading Six of Crows first, but it was worth it.
oh my god???? nina and mattias are actually my favorite ship too!!! like. i got The Feels when they woke him up and they almost had a romantic moment before he tried to kill her lol but THEN THEIR BACKSTORY HAPPENED AND I KNEW I WAS COMPLETELY DONE FOR OH MY GOD
I've only read Six of Crows so far so idk if more is revealed in the next book but I'm wondering if Wylan "can't read" because he's dyslexic ? based on something he said to Jesper about preferring numbers and music to words because they "don't get jumbled up" ? I could totally see their society viewing difficulty reading as just pure illiteracy
I personally didn't love the SOC but I did enjoy it. I found odd too; we have a bunch of teenagers, all eighteen or younger. It kinda felt like certain aspects of their skills were overreaching especially when you think about their age. It didn't feel very realistic.
anytime kaz broke someone's bone or something w his cane, i'd be like, "literally how do u hit someone at just the right place to shatter their ____???" but also i would justify it to myself by thinking about how long he's been in the barrel and the fact that the cane is fabrikator-made. idk it was a weird mix of disbelief and understanding lol
right ?? I read this book after watching the show that just came out where they aged them up to being in their 20s which fits way better with their knowledge and skills than being 16-17. imaging the older actors helped it feel a little less unbelievable
I love Six of Crows duology!! Well this is not related to the vid but do you know that 'To all the boys I've loved before' is turning into a movie and they are almost complete with the shooting.
Your passion is just sparkling and lovely and I cannot wait to read 6 of Crows! I want to meet these characters and love them too. Thanks for the review.
HOW THE HELL DID I JUST FIND YOUR FREAKING CHANNEL. You are honestly the only book reviewer that I can actually watch the videos of and enjoy. Im going to buy this book right now
Yassss, finally Nina + Matthias shipper! I love, love, love Kaz + Inej; they made me squeal so much by the end of Six of Crows. Still, the beautifully painful history of Nina + Matthias just crushed me, over and over again. Matthias deserves a smack for being the Nazi boy he was, but he also was groom into one. I loved how much Nina forced him to admit his past mistakes and try to redeem.
I've just finished this book 2 days ago... and I can think '' I LOVE THIS BOOK, I LOVE THIS BOOK''. I think your thoughts are pretty much the same as mine. I CAN'T wait to read Crooked Kingdom! OMG OMG OMG
I’m not yet read six of crow but seeing these excited review bout this book make me soo curious how amazing six of crows and well i’m excited too read crooked kingdom too>
i'm so surprised that's it's taken you this long to read it six of crows!!! i love six of crows so much!! it's also so interesting to have read the grisha trilogy before six of crows because I love seeing how Leigh took a good but underdeveloped world from the grisha trilogy and suddenly spun it into this amazing immersive highly developed thing in the six of crows! it's also super fun seeing all the cameos from the grisha trilogy in crooked kingdom!
Caro k i read the grisha triology after i'd finished the first six of crows book and had already fell in love with the world. i found it a lot easier to get into because the 'voice' used is simpler than in six of crows and the story is a lot easier to follow. if you're interested, i would definitely say give it a go! there's a lot of references and cameos in crooked kingdom from the grisha trilogy that are really fun to find! i would say six of crows is probably the 'better' of the two series but i also really liked the grisha trilogy!
agreed!! she stepped up her game so much between the grisha trilogy and six of crows. what i love is that we get to see different parts of the world in the six of crows duology, whereas in the grisha trilogy, bc it's about a civil war, we only explore one country (ravka).
LOVED six of crows tho i have to say, i didn't even notice that Wylan didn't even have his own POVs...but i guess that's also because i think he's the least relevant character ever LOL but awesome review! loved the story time in the beginning
hey sophia i just wanna ask this bc i am a huge taylor swift fan and that brought me on stan twitter like seriously war happens everyday when someone bash taylor, do you still love taylor despite the accused things that thrown on at her?
I think SoC is so NOT BORING, but my friend thought it was boring because she had ead twilight and TMI and now she needs A LOT OF ROMANCE in books. even though TMI is boring for me because its over-romanticized. SoC is one of the coolest books Ive read.
I personally thought that whole it was a very entertaining book, however, it compared poorly to The Lies Of Loche Lamora- which indecently was the reason I picked up Six of Crows- I was looking for something similar to The Gentlemen Bastard Series
I personally really enjoyed the grisha trilogy and think it has good relevance to six of crows but that was just because I related to the world a lot more but it’s perfectly fine to not read them
I really want to get into this book but unfortunatelly i can't find it in Spanish as i'm from Argentina😕. But i can't wait to read it as soon as i can!!!😃. Great review btw, love your chanel!!😉
The push.....? I ran out and bought it the day I finished six of crows. I went as kaz for comicon..... No one got it, but everybody thought I was a great penguin from gotham.
****SPOILER**** To be fair, Nina goes through a super long withdrawal that nearly kills her and leaves her gaunt and exhausted, the parem she took was pretty damn addictive. Love this, though!
I read Six of Crows without reading the Grisha trilogy and I understood things just fine
good!! i think that's how it's meant to be!
Same. Then I read the Grisha trilogy (well, I'm still reading it; I have a bit of the third book left), and now I recognize more little details. I also got the ending spoiled for me by reading Six of Crows first, but it was worth it.
Why nobady likes Wylan 😂😂 like he is such a cutie. He is my fave
literally, I've also heard of people not liking Jesper? Like what?
This duology is life!! I forced my husband to read this duology too (he is not a reader), and he ended up really liking it!!!!
YESSSS i'm so glad your husband enjoyed it, too. this duology is everything
I can't stop looking at your makeup!!! Love it . What eyeshadow is that?
A 2,000-hour long video from Sophia would be amazing :)
lmao highkey doubtful, but thank you for being so sweet 💕💕
Six of Crows definitely snatched my wig.
oh my god???? nina and mattias are actually my favorite ship too!!! like. i got The Feels when they woke him up and they almost had a romantic moment before he tried to kill her lol but THEN THEIR BACKSTORY HAPPENED AND I KNEW I WAS COMPLETELY DONE FOR OH MY GOD

Yes Nina and Matthias are my ship!! (And yes I've read both.)
I personally didn't love the SOC but I did enjoy it. I found odd too; we have a bunch of teenagers, all eighteen or younger. It kinda felt like certain aspects of their skills were overreaching especially when you think about their age. It didn't feel very realistic.

thank you!! i hope you read soc soon! the characters are truly incredible.
You're so welcome. I'll let you know when I start.
So glad to hear that you loved Six of Crows!
thanks, sandy!! it srsly blew my mind
HOW THE HELL DID I JUST FIND YOUR FREAKING CHANNEL. You are honestly the only book reviewer that I can actually watch the videos of and enjoy. Im going to buy this book right now
Did you ever read it? What did you think? (I'm a huge fan, and willing to discuss anything).
@@lindseysquire8417 count me in too!! (╯ಠ‿ಠ)
You're so good at doing reviews and they scare me :(
Can you maybe do a review tips video hee hee?
thanks so much lol even tho this one is a mess. and that does sound like a really good video idea!! i'll have to consider it!
Have you ever read a Haruki Murakami book? and if not, would you consider reading one and talking about it?
Yassss, finally Nina + Matthias shipper! I love, love, love Kaz + Inej; they made me squeal so much by the end of Six of Crows. Haven’t read the series yet.... but I was DYING when you recounted your story time lol
I've just finished this book 2 days ago... and I can think '' I LOVE THIS BOOK, I LOVE THIS BOOK''.
I think your thoughts are pretty much the same as mine.
I CAN'T wait to read Crooked Kingdom! OMG OMG OMG
I’m not yet read six of crow but seeing these excited review bout this book make me soo curious how amazing six of crows and well i’m excited too read crooked kingdom too>

haha, i'm always in contemporary season, honestly. but yes, i hope you get to soc soon!!!
i'm so surprised that's it's taken you this long to read it six of crows!!! i love six of crows so much!! it's also so interesting to have read the grisha trilogy before six of crows because I love seeing how Leigh took a good but underdeveloped world from the grisha trilogy and suddenly spun it into this amazing immersive highly developed thing in the six of crows! it's also super fun seeing all the cameos from the grisha trilogy in crooked kingdom!
is the grisha trilogy worth reading?

I just realized something: the reason Wylan doesn't have a chapter from his point of view is because HE CAN'T READ!!!!!!!! * gasp*
lol had i only read six of crows, i would find this a totally valid reason, BUT wylan has chapters in crooked kingdom!!
thebookbasement *spoils Crooked Kingdom* 😂
He has chapters because jesper wrote them for him.😎
Will you ever do a makeup tutorial?
LOVED six of crows tho i have to say, i didn't even notice that Wylan didn't even have his own POVs...but i guess that's also because i think he's the least relevant character ever LOL but awesome review! loved the story time in the beginning
Matthias and Nina are my fave!
Have you read This Savage Song?
hey sophia i just wanna ask this bc i am a huge taylor swift fan and that brought me on stan twitter like seriously war happens everyday when someone bash taylor, do you still love taylor despite the accused things that thrown on at her?
You should try listening to the SoC audiobook, it's incredible. The voice actors are really good
Glad you liked the series)
I should read it!
I think SoC is so NOT BORING, but my friend thought it was boring because she had ead twilight and TMI and now she needs A LOT OF ROMANCE in books. even though TMI is boring for me because its over-romanticized. SoC is one of the coolest books Ive read.

I personally really enjoyed the grisha trilogy and think it has good relevance to six of crows but that was just because I related to the world a lot more but it’s perfectly fine to not read them
Mine was also Mathias and Nina.
I really want to get into this book but unfortunatelly i can't find it in Spanish as i'm from Argentina😕. But i can't wait to read it as soon as i can!!!😃. Great review btw, love your chanel!!😉

****SPOILER****
To be fair, Nina goes through a super long withdrawal that nearly kills her and leaves her gaunt and exhausted, the parem she took was pretty damn addictive. Love this, though!
I think I'm one of the few people that found this book boring lol
haha, i'm so sorry!! a book can't be good for every reader!
