My name is Nick Homes. I was, and still am a non genius musician who struggled for many years to find out the secrets of jazz improvisation. Throughout 40 years of playing, and obsessive investigation I have focussed on building systems of learning for my students so they can improve , and reach their learning goals with the highest probability.

Great Nick! Nevertheless I think it's more important to figure out what do you WANT to play in stead of what CAN you play. Thanks for your lessons! They're great! ❤
Your gorgeous soprano tone really helps sell your pedagogy. Great lesson.
An excellent tutorial of a difficult concept I had been hoping to have explained to me. Really outstanding. Thank you.
Great lessons! Never thought about using the tonic diminished in those spots! Thanks Nick!
Very cool trick, which I'm adding to my toolbox, thanks!
Very interesting and useful application of the tonic diminished concept. Ear opening!
I love this cover art. It captures the sound.
This is such a simple concept that always sounds great
thanks for sharing. i really need this. Thank you Mr Nick
Fantastic. I’ve heard this sound but not presented in quite this way. Thanks for sharing.
this helped me gain a new understanding of the altered sounds over dominant chords, thanks!
Thanks, for sharing this concept. The use of the tonic diminished gives a fresh, modern sound to rhythm changes. Also, thanks, for the vocabulary lesson. Intercalating... cool word!
Always glad to expand harmonic chops , this sound def needs to be in my kit , thanks as always Nick and team , you make me a better equipped player having more fun.
Beautifully described. Many thanks!
Very very good!! cheers master!!
Excellent. Just excellent!
Awesome! I was playing that way over Rhythm Changes out of feel. Now I know that feeling was right! Thank you Nick for your awesome and always informative content! By the way, if somebody wants to hear a cool rhythm changes song that uses a lot of diminished, listen to 'What they did' from the John Scofield Quartet! Peace.
Had a listen to that one by Schofield, hell! It was all happening a bit too fast for me bro!
Great concept :)
Excelente!!!
This is great ,,...
So play keys what being finger for this Scales
Sensacional!!!Obrigado
You seem to run into a lot of good guitar players .
Hi Nick! Could you provide the subtitles of the videos in Portuguese.....I'm in Sao Paulo city, Brazil - I'm subscribed to the channel!!🎷🎷🎶
Love your video. Small error @ 3:16... You have Bb, Bo, Bb, "Bb" (should be "Bo"; no??)
Hi, You are number one in advanced teaching for jazz.MILLEGRAZIE
Yes, but what’s really inside the tin can?!? And what supermarket chain stocks it?
I find the E natural a bit too much over the F7. Without it it works perfectly, over the F7 it does sound a bit too weird to hear the E natural.
So..THIS is what all you f****** horn players are doing while I'm walking changes. It's about time someone filled me in LOL. 😂
Empty notes
Neutralized dissonance.
