  • Conrad Los Angeles hotel is Hilton’s newest luxury property located in the Bunker Hill neighborhood of Downtown LA. Designed by famed architect Frank Gehry, the property is located directly across the street from Gehry’s iconic Walt Disney Concert Hall and is part of “The Grand,” a new mixed-use complex that will also include residences, retail, and commercial space.
We stayed in a standard “Deluxe One King” room in July 2022 shortly after its grand opening on July 6, 2022. Our video is a tour of the room and grounds, including a glimpse inside the spa and both of the property’s Jose Andres helmed restaurants, San Laurel and Agua Viva.

I was there this past weekend. Fabulous accommodations. The pool area great, food classy. breakfast was amazing I had an identical room, only that it was the view of the Disney performing arts building. the pricing is up there and the only draw back was that I was only offered a late check out at 2pm, the manager decline to accommodate my request and I have a feeling it was not coming from a good place. i made sure to communicate my displeasure and disappointment in her decision. especially after I spent $1400 over 2 nights and I have Gold Elite Hilton status.

That’s unfortunate. The hotel is indeed very pricey and we enjoyed the pool as well as the food.

Sorry to hear that. I too have Hilton status and always found their properties to be among the best. That being said, it may be cliche' but the employees can often times ruin the well earned reputation of a corporation through negligence, incompetence and snarky comments. I certainly hope the representatives from Hilton with whom you contacted took appropriate actions. It's very easy to lose the reputation of excellence through complacency.

I like this resort's styling and interior deco, and the food looks pristine. Definitely a cut above hilton's already impressive standard brand quality. The two of you have amazing experiences with 5 star resorts, which I envy somewhat. Me and a friend of mine haven't quite had the same luck, from a Conrad in New York to a Ritz carlton in Dallas (nice interior design and mojito though, credit where it's due) to some Waldorf astoria somewhere in arizona, our small handful of separate experiences with 5 stars have ended in awkward, pretentious, uncomfortable shoulder shrugs, in contrast with our great experiences with 4 stars (esp Hyatt regencies). Me and these 5 stars, for some reason, we just haven't been on the same page so far. How do you approach these resorts and avoid the pretentious pitfalls that sometimes hamper the experience for those who are not in the top 1%?

Fortunately, we've had wonderful experiences at all these resorts. We do our research before our stay and if there are must try or must do things at the resort, we'll usually try at least 1 of them as long as it's not super expensive. We hope you have a better experience in your next hotel stays! Thank you for being the most active subscriber to our channel! If this is the standard deluxe King Room.. then it's nicer than the Ritz Carlton and Intercontinental hotel's guestrooms which are also in Downtown L.A.

Hotel Bel-Air is even better quality than the the FS Beverly Wilshire. Downtown L.A. is fine for business but for leisure I would stay elsewhere, just my personal preference.
