One of my best friends genuinely thought that vincero are high quality watches because of their marketing. And he is an intelligent person no less but for non watch people cutting the "middle man" sounds logical reason for the price decrease. My father wore one of these throughout the 90s. Found it recently and got a do or one coming to help get it back up and running. It will be in my regular rotation then
I have both Casio and Timex. I do like my Timex 40mm weekender chrono as well as my Expedition Scout - the Casios may get more wear in the summer although I wear my Casio Duro quite often in winter - right now the Timex are getting more wear.
My dad had a Seiko in brushed steel (aluminum?) almost identical to this for 20+ years. This really brings back memories. I might have to pick this up just for nostalgia.

Man these will always be my favorite of the vintage digital casios. some collectors are marlin guys or gshock guys im an AQ guy! Got the standard aq230 but I also have an AQ301G, an Aq900g, and an Aq410g and they're all mint the aq301g even came with the original box, instruction booklet, and had the original janus sleeve still on the watch
I recently bought a Casio A163W on a recent trip abroad. It's now quite easily my favourite work watch. It's small, light, amazingly comfortable, slim, very legible, super affordable (even If I personally overpaid in jewellery store in Paris, although to quote Rhett Butler "frankly my dear I don't give a damn") and I love the 70s/80s retro styling. Love Casio's and this one is no different. Enjoy 👍
Bought this for my brother last Xmas.he lost his dad at a very early age and I'm 10yrs older so I remember certain things about him,like this watch.very light watch but it's not about anything but an emotional piece for him.

Great video! I recently went to a thrift store and found that some of the same 40, 45, 48 mm models today measured 34, 40, 43 mm 15, 20 years ago. The watch industry has tended to make big watches lately, but, I'm average height and relative small watches (40mm) has had more my wrist time.
I see these every so often and even though I’ve curbed my Casio spending, these are so tempting sometimes. They punch well above their weight in terms of style, while retaining the functionality of normal Casio digitals.
Let me just say this because people are hating on the fact that the case is resin and not stainless steel like their daddy's seikos or citizens? But casio did make these models in stainless steel versions back in the 1980s a few off the top of my head are the AQ320/321 AQ350 and I have an AQ410g that is ion plated. The aq230 is what has sold very well and isn't the priciest to assemble so they kept it. But look on ebay if you want a stainless steel version and they look better than the aq230 as well!! They're out there.

Thanks Jodi !! This is one of my favorite watches. It does a lot of functions in a small package at a small price. Understated and elegant! Although you forgot to mention it has a 12/24 hour switch. This is a great travel watch too.
This is my beater watch,the GMT feature is super useful since I live in a different timezone than my family, and the timer and alarm has allowed me to rely less on my phone.
Makes a very dressy everyday piece in my opinion, plus, will never break the bank. The additional functions are the crown. I think i'll a gold one with a faux crocodile black strap.
I've been considering buying another Casio and this one just might be my next! The silver/black dial one is kinda like the Seiko Roger Moore wore in For Your Eyes Only, too!
I just got my watch yesterday. I like it a lot. It feels like it is cheaply made but for 40 bucks you. Get a cheap watch. It is a little small but that's what I want it works for me
I found and bought one of these little casio anadigis at my local Myers store, the only one they had on sale, i had to have it, i always wanted to have a retro-style anadigi watch. Mine is a silver band with a black face It's a nice little light weight watch and fits well on my wrist. Sadly, it has no backlight,its only a cheap base model after , I have other watches with all the fruit in my collection If I want to wear something more feature packed on the wrist. Such as my Seiko SNJ025 Arnie and my Casio G Shock DW5600E Tough Solar. But over all the AQ230 is a cheap, stylish little retro style piece!.
Another super good Casio ana-digi is the AW-80. It was the first watch I ever got, got it when I was 8. I'm 19 now and I still haven't had to change the battery after wearing it every day and fiddling with it constantly for about 9 years. The modern ones are slightly worse because they slashed the water resistance from 100m to 50m but it's still a bargain for around €30.
Recently bought one of the adrenaline red series g-shocks to replace the casioak my daughter stole. For some reason the display now lights up pink instead of adrenaline red so I tried to get my daughter to swap explaining all the features of the watch.....she’s not having a bar of it so I’m left with a pink watch while my daughter struts around looking cool with my casioak.
I really enjoy your videos mate! I was heavy into watches but sold all of them. Because the financial side of watch collection can get quiet easy out of hand. But your channel gives me a new perspective on collecting watches. Thx for that! Cheers from Germany Johnny
Hi Jody, great review. Speaking of great value Casios, have you had a look at the W202 / B640 models? Great features, lightweight and an excellent upgrade for someone who wants something like the F91W but with a decent backlight, a timer and even the ability to put other 18mm straps, all for around 20$ for the resin and around 35$ for the metal band.
I have two of these but they are vintage Seikos. Nice review. I appreciate you taking a little broader look at different types of watches, in addition to what would seem to be necessary, highlighting of new offerings coming to market. You have to pay for the channel somehow right. You might take a look at the Casio Duro in its new iterations, blue face and bezel and black face and gold edged bezel. They look gorgeous. OFD channel has a review and for 56.00 USD OMG they look awesome, I bought a blue one and am gonna put it on a Vostok mesh bracelet. Cheers.

Nice review as always. Concerning the movement you might have referred to the stepping minute of this drive. This is far more economical than constantly ticking quarz, hence only very few steps per minute. This is my personal highlight feature for a watch in that price range. 😎☝🏻

Another Casio "GMT" is the SGW600H - it's a multi time zone watch and can display 2 time zones on the screen. A sporty alternative to this one.
