  • Thought I would answer a couple of the most common questions here. The trampoline was a regular above ground model which I removed the middle section of the steel legs. The thick plastic are used for the retaining wall was 300 mm DPC, link below. Finally, the hole has never filled with more than a couple of inches of rain water, even in the middle of winter. If in doubt dig a little deeper and perhaps put a gravel bed in, at worst you can just drop a cheap pump through the gaps in the springs and pump out on the odd occasion you might have a buildup over winter.
    There are step-by-step videos for the build on the channel.

    This week we finally got round to finishing off the garden playground and sunken trampoline. Here is a look from start to finish of how we transformed the forgotten corner of the garden.

      I'm planning to do this for my two tykes, 18months and 3yrs, but I was worried it might lose it's bounce if the air can't flow freely underneath, have you found this to be the case at all?

    • @TheRestorationCouple
      @TheRestorationCouple  3 роки тому +2

      I reckon I can build that not really but does mean the padding flaps up a little, at least when I bounce on it! Easiest option is just stick a 4” pipe from void out and up. (Put some mesh over though as you will prob end up with all the kids toys stuffed down it!

    I had sunken a trampoline for my kids a few years ago but the edges gave way over time. I saw you video a few weeks back and used the DPC and steak technique and it worked a treat and looks fantastic. Thanks for the helpful tips.!! New subscriber here 👍👍

    I watched nearly every video you've released over the last month and you have inspired me and my wife to erect some new fences and we are now half way through laying 70 m2 of paving. The most DIY I've ever previously done was put together some Ikea flat pack. Although I say myself its looking quite good and we both have a massive sense of achievement after another full on weekend mixing and laying. Not bad for 2 50 year olds. So glad I didn't find your channel sooner otherwise who knows what might have been built.

    Great video of your project. I think you did an excellent job with what you put together. My only concern is still a safety concern due to the close proximity of the wall and the fencing. At this early age it may not make much of a difference, but as the kids get older they could end up bouncing right into the wall of even on top of the fencing. Otherwise it looks really like a great space.

      I have checked it out of curiosity over two winters and after the heaviest of rainfalls it will have around 2-3” in it which takes a day or so to drain naturally. Depending on how clay like your soil is then it might just be worth digging an additional hole in the middle of the bottom and filling with gravel or just keep a cheap submersible pump on standby if it did become a problem?

    Great video, i'm think of doing the same, initially was going to leave turf up to the perimeter but moving and strimming the edge might be difficult so am considering artificial grass. You said yours was temporary, is this still the case? Would you recommend it or would you prefer real grass? Also those climbing poles are great, where did you get the materials from?
