Genuine question - how is this compensating, when normal CO2 levels should be 35-45? Is it compensating by the fact that he is blowing off too much CO2, meaning he is breathing in more oxygen than normal? I would think his PaO2 would be higher than 80 if he was compensating. Help me understand this a little better please. Thank you!
