God is abcent. Final song on the three thirst albums. Go back and you will find out that they are connected and starts with "Lucifer we are here" on Opus and this is how it ends on Meliora. All of your imaginations are now running down your face is a fantastic line!
Yes! Deus in Absentia is such a pretty song and a wonderful way to end Meliora proper (the deluxe version of Meliora ends with a cover song called Bible, which also thematically works as an ending). It always makes me want to sing and sway along with it. Meliora is my favorite album by them, it's just fantastic!!! I'm so happy that you've been enjoying these songs and providing such great commentary for each one! It's almost like I'm listening to Ghost for the first time all over again. I can't wait until you guys get to Mary on a Cross!
Thanks yeah I know exactly what you mean! It’s like showing your favorite movie to a best friend who has never seen it before. It feels like experiencing it for the first time again!
I'd almost forgotten how much I loved the choirs in the piece. Reminds me out of something from The Omen or Rosemary's Baby. Most of us also know that Deus in Absentia is very rare to hear on stage.
I think it’s fair to say this would be a huge technical challenge with the odd rhythm structure to pull off live. Not impossible but probably takes 5x more effort to prepare for live performance than most songs.
Love this song! Deus in absentia means something along the lines of in the absence of God. It seems like the first time you hear the choir in this song, theyre crying out to God; who as the song progresses, never shows. Its dark If you guys wanna hear some older ones by them, I recommend Monstrance clock (they end a lot of their concerts with it), Ghouleh/zombie queen, Prime mover, and con clavi con dio. Another wonderful newer ghost song is "Mary on a cross". They also have a haunting cover of here comes the sun
Haha someone else who thinks of Arny in true lies. It’s such an awesome, beautiful song and I love the lyrics. Tobias sure knows how to finish an album strongly.
Its a diverse load of songs with ghost and i think thats one of the best selling points when it comes to myself. Great content and oh, if you continue on with ghost you should really check out Mary on a cross, i didnt know what to make of it the first time i heard it :)
I like to think the choir at the beginning is the masses crying out for salvation, only for them to realize they have been forsaken... and then the very next song they released was Square Hammer, the devil taking the role of "the saviour" of the masses
Check out ATOMSHIP - MOTHRA. Amazing drums and a very cool rock/metal song. …and while you’re on a Ghost kick, don’t forget ZOMBIE QUEEN and MONSTRANCE CLOCK and their covers of It’s A Sin and Avalanche.
Most of their music is a criticism of the modern day church and religion actually what religion as always been a plague on people. Tobias as stated he’s not an actual satanist but I do believe he uses Satan the same way Satanist use Satan. He’s a symbol for individuality and self worship going against those who want to control you. Many satanist, such as myself don’t actually believe in the devil nor do we believe in god.
I was drawing a distinction between good popular music and the drivel that people who don’t really like music listen to that somehow tops the billboard charts.
The choir at the end of this has always felt really haunting to me. Love it.

I was VERY lucky to see them do it live

This is my favourite Ghost song along with , Con Clavi Con Dio, He Is and Absolution .
Ghost - Mary on a cross, trust me 🥰
the music evokes introspection. very well done
Ghost - Here comes the sun... 🍷

Meliora is my favorite album from Ghost. Awesome reaction, now we need "Spirit" and "Majesty" reactions.
Spirit would fit in Scooby-Doo.
The intro to that alone would fit in the show.
Meliora is also my favorite album

I beleive that they worked with a choice in LA with this one. Not sure which one though!
When you are old like me..you can say you played Ghost n goblins on the Commodore 64 =D
My first video game was Simons quest on the original Nintendo. 😀
Me too . Never got very far thou. Such a hard game. I don't know anyone who actually made it.
I always wanted a MediEvil game with soundtrack of Ghost. It would be funny and spooky.
Deus in Absentia is a gorgeous song.
you guys will love *mary on a cross* by ghost! check it out
Underrated. Funny you do this now.
There’s no method to the order! 😜

Y'all should react to "He Is." That'll catch you off guard
I think we already did! 😬
A family that Mortal Kombat together, stay together. Haha.
React to Ghost-Monstrance clock

Are you injecting saline in your biceps?
I think you mean synthol oil? No mine are just hard work! 😁
God gives up on you? What? I don't think that's what you really meant. You can be forgiven,if you truly repent. Tobais is an atheist. Not a satanist.
I think you misunderstand what she meant.
“We don’t discuss pop music on this channel”
But you’re listening to Ghost!😏
What they mean is bubblegum pop.
There is pop and ther's pop. Ghost is on the great side of "pop"
black sABBAth
