And I hate velcro so much. If it's not your size, the sharper side can slightly injure your training partner, and they don't last long. I was thinking of trying to use shoelaces instead

I think Velcro is the right move and there are much softer and stronger velcros that should completely eliminate the injury/scratching issue. Changing to laces would be a nightmare in my opinion 😢 I think the combination of the guards shape, build quality of pull back straps and quality of elastic straps all together can make... or break a shin guard entirely! 👍🙏

Thanks for the video, great content. I bough a pair of shin guards but the wrist guard is squeezing my toe while walking. Is this an issue that will resolve ones they are broken in or should I look fo a different pair? Keep it up!
Thanks mate, I really appreciate it! It absolutely can become an issue. I've seen many people end up with cuts or hinder their sparring because of it. If you can't return them, try and manipulate the foot guard gently with your hands in all directions to soften them slightly. Hopefully this helps legend 🙏
I'm a real tall and skinny fighter, essentially the height of a medium but the width of a small, is there a specific brand you'd recommend for me? my coach is recomending i fit for height first (which i agree) and supplement the velco with tape to fit it to my leg diameter tighter. any advice?
Its tough my friend! The straps are the hardest to get 100% right! I think Yokkao do quite a skinny guard, venum might be the same mate. I haven't tested these myself but from how I've seen them on fighters, they are very slim! Hope this helps mate 🙏

They look very innovative The evolution 3.0 Classic Thai Super max Definitely looking for a glove with some mesh for airflow on top of palms but also protection and padding on the inside of hands on palms and wrist areas for blocking kicks many gloves don’t have both
I have tried one pair and I wasn't a fan, felt like a cheaper version of the new Primo gloves! You will have a hard time finding mesh palm gloves, especially for sparring as any clash could result in damaging and wrecking the mesh 🙏🙏
I recently got the same imfightstyle shin guards in small, I'm 5'9. How do you personally find them? I tried them tonight by just checking and find the upper straps rubs... Hopefully it softens up but my fairtex sp5 never had this issue. They also feel less comfy than expected at its price point!

If the straps rub when your leg moves then maybe they are too wide for you, as in the shin guard itself doesn't wrap around your leg well..? I have had a much better experience with the Danger Shin Guards however its always safer going to a brand like Fairtex!

Never heard of them before mate, looks like a relatively new brand, they don't have any info about their history or brand on the website which makes me a little suspicious... The gear looks ok, but be careful all the same mate!

Happens all the time mate, unfortunately it's most likely that the model of shin guard simply isn't built for your leg but another may be! Sometimes it just depends on the batch as the manufacturer may include longer/shorted straps, which is always annoying :(

Calves.. the arch nemesis of the shin guard 😭 It's impossible to get it right because manufacturers only cater to the most common sizes 😰😮💨 I know top boxer custom make everything including shin guards for approx 149 USD. Hopefully that could be your answer!
