I had a 1000R2 1984 same green, the last year, i dont think it was so many manufactured. Bougth it from a closed down MC- educaitotion for "peanuts" in Sweden in1989. It had 12 miles on the meter, just testdrived at the schoolyard after simulated issues. I drove it for over 70 000 km and it was a wounderful bike, both on road and trackdays. Did some mods like 4 to 1 (not Kerker), Elr oilcooler, backward footpegs teflon and steel brakehoses, and so on. Sold it to a Finnish undertaker, and he was so happy i keept all the original parts, most happy for the original rubberbrakehoses, who was important for his registration in Finland

I rode a silver KZ750 for 20 yrs. Ohh the sound of that exhaust. If you ever went into a tunnel or under a bridge, drop it to a lower gear and howl that baby all the way through. Made me grin every time.

Yeah…the bike sounds pretty sweet. I have a Suzuki 1150E that sounds really good too. Something about those big carbureted liter bikes in the 80’s really put out an excellent exhaust tone. While they are much less refined than todays bikes they are a joy to ride.

you’re dead on, Sir. I also love the transmission sound at low speeds. those KZ3/4Liter bikes are still something special.
I still have my ‘82 KZ1000LTD & it’s been parked in my mom’s horse stable for 20+ years.
I plan to chop it up into some hybrid scramblin’ bobber cafe fighter very soon, because I want to hear its music again & have always hated its look & styling.
I bought it for the engine & hope to hear it roar it’s scream before winter

In the 1970s nothing how old like a Kawasaki Z. This was when you could tell bikes by their exhaust note at night. Now they all sound alike.

I’ll capture some sound on an upcoming video. It has a great tone with the Kerker 4 to 1 on it.

I had a GPZ1100B1 from almost new. The fuel injection was flawless and guess what? that bike still gets ridden regularly (by a new owner) and still has the standard fuel injection and still runs perfectly.

I just love how the KZ line look so similar across the board. My '83 KZ550 was a great little bike that was my sole transport for two years and 100k miles. Simple, easy to maintain, and damn near bulletproof.

Cool Bikes are Cool Bikes, Period
thank you for featuring this cool bike from a pivotal time in MC history & describing the climate of that day
“Harley” guys (Dentists, GCs, Truckers) turned up their noses at my ‘70s BMW R50/5 that I restored in college 15 years ago in parking lots. nowadays, it gets more attention than their generic V-Twins. why? IMO it’s because ppl have seen enough of them. Guzzis, BMW Rs of all Flavors, Triumphs, etc. get deserved attention from the latest gen of MC enthusiasts, riders, collectors & dreamers.
I am a brand snob when it comes to many things; i.e. e- Guitars/Basses - Fender/Rickenbacker, Baitcasters - Shimano Calcuttas, Rods - All-Star, Irons (3-PW) - Mizuno MP Blades, Woods - Taylor Made, Rackets - Babolat, Pistols - Glock, Blk Rifles - Bushmaster, ShotGuns - Remington, Ketchup - Del Monte, LA HotSauce - Red Rooster, etc… so, I get it.
but, I do not turn my nose up at those (classless morons - jk) that prefer Gibson, Abu-Garcia, Callaway, etc. it’s what they like & enjoy.
purchasing rare/collector bikes to resale at top/premium prices when the time comes is one thing, while buying a bike to ride because it made you happy is another.
I’ll hop in anything & enjoy the experience, because I love to ride. don’t be the kind of person that says, “if that bike wasn’t _____ and was a ______, then you might have something there,” to anyone. people know what they have & have it for a reason. being part of an enthusiast community should be something special, where encouragement & positivity is always present. try to keep that in mind, older dudes, when you meet a younger dude coming up…you’ll serve your community & may become an accidental mentor, and that’s amazing.
my comments were not specifically directed at our BotBR narrator here, but were more of a PSA to us all for thought.
y’all be careful out there…there’re way too many distracted drivers out to get us, now more than ever.

    Is it a B2? (Bars, clocks, dum-de-dum)
Just Kawasaki shock stickers on the shocks?
Just a nerd here unable to resist sticking my beak in. It’s a really nice bike.
(Be better in red. Jus’ sayin.)

You really don't know much about the bike or Kawasakis from that era. You really shouldn't talk about them.

Please make a video explaining every thing that was wrong.
I’m an old KZ fan and love to learn anything I can about any 70/80’s Kawasaki’s.
