  • This week we finish one of the violins and play it and also continue
restoration of the other 1800's violin. There is an interesting Freddie Chat, a cello update, an Hebrew Minute. Enjoy!
Background virtual music was created by Thomas Pinch.

I love all the violins coming in from all over the country! It’s been fun to see them receive new life.
And it’s been an honor to make a Cello with the great Cheryl!

The Hebrew minute is from Psalms 150:4. Thank you for the tour of your shop and your kind hospitality this week. I love the sound of my violin after your repairs! May God continue to bless all that you set your hand to!

I was pleased that your shelf collapse did not do too much damage! Freddie must have had a terrible shock in the middle of the night. You are right; wrong glue, wood filler and dowel soundposts are all gavelling offences! Thank you for playing "Shalom", always a favourite of mine.

Psalm 150:4? Oh no - I think I need a blanket too, Freddie. It was a shock just seeing the photo. What a relief to find so little damage. The Seidel is truly worth all the time and effort - very expressive tone.

Can the harp sound-board be repaired with hide glue, or do the strings exert too much tension? Amazing the shelf collapse wasn't a disaster! Enjoyed all the repairs and comments. The Professor's cello is looking wonderful. Thanks for another glimpse into a busy violin shop! Stupidicus.

That is a great question. It seems that the tension will just crack it again. It was that sudden drop that did it. I am so grateful the others instruments are okay! Thank you for commenting. It is always greatly appreciated. Hope you have a great week!

i loved the story about the composer and the prince, yes, the prince needs to contribute to the betterment of others like that of the composer if he is to be ''remembered'' through time, parents hope to impart SOMETHING to their kids that will endure in them

I think that children pick up quite much from their parents so you can know that it will all work together for good and trust the Lord for the outcome! Thank you for commenting and have a great week!

Poor Hayden. These great composers had very little income and wealth.

It is interesting to hear how they lived and yet they were inspired by God to write such powerful music! Thank you for commenting and hope you have a wonderful week!
