Cameron, I could not agree with you more. For the past 50 years I have worn a 1966 Rolex 5512 Chrony and have never given a thought of wearing anything else. Like you, many watch experts consider it the most iconic and important watch ever made. I actually got mine in 1973 from a Rolex dealer second hand for $150. Thanks
At 52 I’m a date guy (lol) am also a bias Omega guy as well. With that, this reference is at the pinnacle when it comes to watches! IT’s everything I’d ever want in a vintage no date watch!
My 3 grails in my collection : 1967 5513 (rivet bracelet), 1967 145.012 on 1450, and an out-of-this world 1963 165.024 with "Swiss Made" dial, mark 1 "thin font" bezel on 1506 bracelet with naiad crown and exceptional patina.
I have to agree, the 5513 is the watch of all watches. When aliens arrive at earth and ask us to show them our civilization's quintessential wristwatch we have to show them this one.
Bought my 5513 just like this one in 1969 in Vietnam and still wear it every day. Don’t take it off at night. It’s part of my arm! It is priceless and will eventually go to my grandson.
I once had one of those from about 1969. I wore it for 50 years and then sold it. A move I have regretted ever since. How much is one worth to buy now ?

Very nice one. As i cannot afford this my eye is on the Tudor BB54.
Tudor BB54 is AWESOME!!! got to see it when it was released in Geneva for W&W
Saw a BB54 in the wild last year and did a double take thinking it was a vintage Sub. Bought one 😂
He's back!
Indeed we are!!!
Here here, if I had to choose one watch, no question it would be a 5513 MAXI 1

I have its cousin, 14060m 2 liner. I believe it’s being called neo-vintage these days.
